Im curios as well..
from what I've seen the explore page has changed from popular photos and videos that IG picks over to the most popular liked photos of those who you follow. Its also categorized by photos you liked so it suggests new photos on the explore page from this info. Im not sure if you Can do anything moire as its all and algorithm on what you like.
