phpworkplace.com a scam

As the title says it all. These guys are operating as a new freelancer portal but they have a scam system where they post fake projects of high budget $1500 and lure new freelancer and then login in to your PayPal account with Teamviewer. They ask you to to deposit project award fee 8% before you can accept it and then ask you to pay that amount to a random paypal as they have issues with PayPal in Asian countries as most freelancers are from Asia.

They will then mark the shipment as delivered in PayPal and then open dispute and close it so you can not again make another dispute.

One of my business development guy fall for this scam and my company has to bear a loss of $135 due to this. Just posting it here so no other fella Freelancer can get scammed by these people.

Post about them on facebook, twitter and other social media so everyone knows the fact about them.
They can't delete your post or thread anywhere.

Yeah it needs to be spread over the web as much as we can. I have 12 years of experience dealing online so I caught them and what they try to do. They login to your PayPal by team viewer and while you have a joy of earning project worth $1500 they will mark the shipment delivered and go to resolution center and open a dispute and then close it. As we all are aware that once dispute is closed we can not claim it back.

It is an organised scam and I'm damn sure a bunch of newbie freelancers and struggling business developers fail for such scams. Not only this but they are now trying to convince me to close the dispute by sending fake PayPal chat.



I hope moderators here will let this thread open as there are many freelancers here they can fall for such a scam. This will also help if someone tries to search them online as so far they have posted positive feedback everywhere.

I faced the same situation with that scam site. But I refused to deposit any money.

I have successfully got refund from PayPal after filing dispute. Just wanted to update that these guys are bunch of scammers.

They tried to even reset password of my PayPal. This thread is really ranking well on Google and I hope it continues so that no one fall for such a scam.
