As to page interlinking. I have the related posts plugin installed and it shows related posts at the bottom of the page. When you say to interlink I assume you mean that you have a post about making widgets and in the post there is a link to a page about painting widgets. That the link on the making widgets posts would read "more about painting widgets" or similar and it would point to the painting widgets post. If the related posts plugin already links the making widgets page and the painting widgets page do we also need to interlink using anchor text in the post?
Also you started this thread back in 2013, is everything said in it still valid or have some things changed. Also great having you back. As you can see you have a lot of fans.

The most preferred inter-page linking is done in-content. Next important would be a related posts plugin. The least important are regular navigation leading to category pages which then lead to your pages. Keeping your inner-page linking to in-content is the best method, but I also use related post plugins (YARPP).

Just as valid today, if not even moreso. All this stuff has been going on at least since 2009 when I first noticed it, and since then Google updates (like panda) shifted keyword density also to incoming links.
