I have a different notion of keywords than most people. Chained keyword phrases are more potent for one.
There's other software called SEOpressor, plugin for wordpress that analyzes keyword content. They're wrong ... follow their advice for density and you'll be penalized for sure.
I doubt anyone, anywhere has created a program that judges keyword density appropriately.

Hey PHPbuilt. Like 2-3 years ago, I used a software (still got it but dont use it) called Website Auditor. One of its main features was to analyze on-page metrics such as keyword density as an average on the top-ten results for a certain keyword and provide you with an average % to use within the body of the page you are trying to rank. This worked very well back then. The pages I worked on usually jumped from either N/A or Top 200 to page 2-5. After that I usually started the link building.
As I understand this software is still widely used but their definition of keyword density is different. For example, look at the following texts:
1. If you are looking for cheap web hosting then consider...
2. If you are looking for a cheap and affordable web hosting
According to their software (which I found very strange and not logical) keyword density for a phrase does not only apply that the words in the keyword phrase occurring after each other. The above texts would have the same keyword density for the keyword "cheap web hosting".
What are your thoughts about this? Thanks a lot for your valuable contribution. Definitely bookmarked! I added you on skype btw.
