    I currently use blogsolution (v4) and have added my own custom templates (the originals suck, sorry). The problem I am having is I am trying to call another php file but its a no good.

    For example I added <?php include("filename.php"); ?> to the index.tpl (equiv of index.php) but the simple script I am trying to echo is not displayed (it does work on another site of mine).

    Any clue to blogsolution handles this?

    I dont know if blogsolution is using Smart template system (check directory structure for a folder called smarty) if it does you have to add php code like this:
    http://www.smarty.net/manual/en/language.function.php.php

    Nevermind I figured it out. Thanks MoneyMafia.

    the syntax is different. Use:
    {php}
    include('myscript.php');
    {/php}
