why do we need phone verified accounts for facebook? ive had two accounts for two years and havent had any troubles. sure, at one point, they asked for phone verified accounts but i just ignored it...
is it cuz there's less of a chance of getting banned if u have a phone verified?
and what does fb track with? flash cookies, ip, mac address, what?

Facebook is rolling out new verification methods for users with unverified accounts. If someone triggers the spam prevention filter, they will be subject to verify their identity somehow. The easiest is by phone through a text message or verbal code. Expect more methods to be rolled out.

You send TWO messages to people you aren't friends with and your logged out and prompted to add a phone number. Those messages can be different and don't even have to included links. I thought that might be the problem the other day as that's what I do but no, just two messages is enough to disable the account. That's not about preventing spam, it's about collecting more information on people.

Has anyone tried to setup up Twilio and openvbx? It's super simple especially at dreamhost where they can auto install it for you. Click click done, and you can provision phone numbers to your hearts content to forward to other numbers. Each number is $1 a month plus usage fees in the pennies.
I don't know what they do about prorating, I assume they don't. So is a single phone number worth $1 to you?
Twilio even has a special now where they'll put $30 in your account if you cough up another $20 I believe. So that's like 50 numbers for the price of 20.

2. In case the phone number is required again, (should the roadblock come up again) will it be possible to reverify with the SAME NUMBER.
3. If reverification with same number is possible , would that be chargeable.

Unused number after some months will be blocked by the phone provider network if they dont have any credit... If facebook will ask for reverification again, that phone number should have at least a prepaid load of at least 0.40 dollars a month... It is possible... but a lot of work...
