I am preparing to purchase a new phone but I honestly don't know what I want. The reason for this is that my iphone slipped out of my pocket and the screen broke.

I'm open to all suggestions.. I'm looking to spend around $400. I was looking into the Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus... is anyone using that phone? How is it performance wise, battery etc.

Thanks!

Yes redmi 5 plus is best phone

I saw this phone on aliexpress with lots of reviews and it's a lot cheaper on there than in stores. Do you think it's going to be the same quality wise?

Xiaomi is an over-rated brand that doesnt last long. All my friends using RedMi are now having problem with heating and not lasting more than 1-5 years..I would always suggest to go for Samsung..

Another vouch for Oneplus 5-5T, Currently using 3T for almost 2 years and still solid :D

just bought pixel 2 its amazing.
my wife bought samsung note8 but is using my old pixel1 for photos :D so if budget is low, buy google pixel

Go for Iphone for best security .
If you want to Go with Android then : Samsung without any doubt

i came in conclusion that spendding too much $ in smartphones is not worth it, personally i would only buy iphone (ex-hardcorde android user) OR a cheap 200-300$ chinese phone samsung, huawei etc are really not worth it

i would suggest you buying a chinese phone but not xiaomi even tho they are very good phones i heard that from chinese warehouses they come with ads, actually in my friends xiaomi the ads appeared after 2 months and he uses the phone only for viber nothing else its his secondary phone

I really like my LG V20 a lot. $389 and it´s still up to date.

Especially the sound is amazing if you listen to a lot of music with good headphones or in-ears - it has a HIFI Quad-Dac.
Pretty good manual camera with 1.8 aperture for low-light images & an additional wide lense.
The battery is also replaceable - with two batteries I can go anywhere and don´t worry about charging.

With the updates LG is not the fastest, but Android 8 is coming soon.

Pixel 2 is of course better, especially the camera, but it´s $650 in the U.S.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I'm going to look into each phone today :) Can someone tell me how much the Google Pixel is running for in their country? It's about $600 here, any country where I could get it cheaper?
