Phone number to use for ebay registration

When registering a new account,can you use a 1800 number?

Not too sure, but I don't see why it would be a problem. But if you are worried about it you can always get a Google Voice number for free and just have the call routed to another number.

That doesn't work for me. I'm in Canada . I'm not sure if a 1800 number would work because there is no place to put the number 1 in the registration form. the format is xxx-xxx-xxxx on ebay. I assume that when ebay calls they put the 1 automatically but don't want to risk it. If anyone has any experience with this, would be great.

I don't understand what the RISK is. Here in the US, a "1" is assumed before xxx-xxx-xxxx. If you don't put in a "1" it does not work. If and when we run our of phone numbers, then we might have to declare our phone numbers as 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx or 2-xxx-xxx-xxxx. I hope that does not happen soon.

If you are worried about exposing your "800" number, I would try Google Voice or something similar. Got any friends or relatives here in the states to help you out.

The risk is putting the 1800 number and it not working for the registartion and then having to change my phone number increasing the chance of getting the account limited.

are you sure that ebay will call you? i dont think so.. how many ppls a day registered on ebay?? i think more than 100pls.. i created new account 2 weeks ago with random phone numbers.. and few days laters.. ebay suspended my account.. solutions

1. before ebay call you.. i think its better if you call ebay first.. asking about your problem ( suspended account and how to reinstated it )
2. live chat with ebay CS .. ask the procedure .. they will give you url how to reinstated your account
3. wait few days.. and ebay will send you an email that you have to send them document as requirement to reinstated your account ( photo ID, CC statement and bill utility ) .. if you created fake account.. photoshop talk now !!!
4. send them all requirement.. wait several days.. ITS DONE !!

my account reinstated now !

Everytime that i have registered on ebay.com, they ask to confirm your account by phone. It's an automated message that give you a pin number. With the pin number you can't not confirm you account for selling. But thank for the help guy's I was able to find a solution using one of the suggestions above.

you can also use tracfones. Thats what I use. They are only $9.99 at wal mart. They come with 20 minutes and 60 days. Well worth the investment.
