I had this idea a while back and thought I’d share it, I don’t have much knowledge of this type of stuff but could be valuable for someone to work off and give me some advice.
You can buy the latest smartphones on alibaba for really cheap, I seen some as low as $5. Of course these are knockoffs but they still work to call, text, access the internet.
You would buy 1000 phones and add your own software, kind of like a cheaper version of iOS and Android software.
Sell the phones for really cheap, sell them to break even or make little profit because even at $20 per phone you will sell out almost immediately.
How do you make money?
With your software you can have your own apps like a browser, your own search engine, your own whatsapp type messenger and so on, monetize them all.
All these apps would be default and non removable on your phones.
So my question is, why hasn’t someone done this already because we all know anyone can sell $20 phones probably by the millions? Sure, you get what you pay for but many people are broke and would buy a $20 phone, besides you would probably only need to have 100,000 phones sold to make a decent profit by monetizing apps from your software.
If you sell 100,000 phones means you could potentially have 100,000 people per day accessing your monetized apps.
Any ideas here?
