Phoenix Twitter Desktop

curious, how does this differ from hummingbird?

Well, their friend adder is using the web interface (AFAIK), and mine uses pure API, so in theory mine would be faster. Plus, with how i have built this, the features i can add to it are unlimited. So far its just a friend adder and tweet scheduler, but essentially anything to do with twitter can be added without affecting the current workings.

Woot awesomeness for free, well done with teh new tool. Using it already but since you are using API to add friends, hopefully you can do that for unfollowing ppl too. Twitter karma is too slow and too much work

Heh, i use twitter karma fine which makes me reluctant to code it. Generally i code out of my own necessity.

I'm so loving your software! ... One issue has developed though:

When I disconnect my DSL to get a new IP when running your progs (V 2.0 and Phoenix) I then get an error when trying the next account that the user name and password are invalid, it tells me to restart and it then restarts itself. It's a minor inconvenience but I thought I'd bring it to your attention. Maybe there's a problem when disconnecting from wherever it is calling to when it launches?

But again... very cool share!

Whats the message that appears? It could be that it couldnt find twitter, or that it got phail whale. Either way it would restart.

The above kind of makes sense if your getting a new IP. V2.0 never called anywhere when it started. And this version only calls to me to check if their is updates, but that is handled by "microsoft" persay so its not really in my hands (And its not something that would cause a restart).

Email me the message and ill take a look. Mind you, you shouldnt need to get a new IP. AFAIK, twitter only logs the IP on account creation.

Man i love this. No ad posting on twitter, great friend adder.

All in all a great twitter tool. Hats Off to you. :1:

Thank you for the update.
But when it's install again the older account.txt is delete:) Could you just make any warning that old account.txt will be deleted?:) in my case I have back up of this file.

just a little advice to who are using auto tweets.

delete the lines or tweets that are already posted after you close the program.

other wise next time when you start the program to post automatic. it will post the same line automatically.

I'll shoot over an email when I get back to my computer.

As for the changing of IPs... I used to get a lot of accounts banned. I read somewhere on here that twitter limits the number of requests per day per IP to 1k. A follow being a request, I started changing IPs between accounts when mass adding and have not lost an account in about a month.

Though maybe I also changed how I am handling following/unfollowing (memory is failing me atm)

Sweet more testing to do! lol, if I could get by without changing IPs that would def make life easier.

Lol. Open the account manager. And read :).

@nirose , Correct... The application doesnt save settings after you close it. And most certainly not the tweeting file.

@enigman , Yeah they do. But its for different requests. Various requests have different limits. So for friend adding you can only add 1k people per day. But they are not subject to IP limits. And DM's are something like 200 a day, but not subject to IP limits. But things like asking the api "Is personA friends with personB", Then that uses up the API IP limit.

Sweet, thanks for clearing that up. I must have started following the 1k per account when I started switching IPs every 1k follows. Thanks for clearing up my duh moment!

Im totally in love with Phonix Twitter Desktop now.. building up my accounts.. slowly, and carefully.. adding 12-30 at a time per account, 2-3 times per day.. depending on the amount of followers I have for each..

Don't know what the "SleepTime" function's purpose is? Doesn't seem to change anything?

but I just wanted to say that I just love this now.. it's going to be my recommended tool for everyone.. I'm not using the scheduler yet.. but the FriendAdder is just perfect, sooo extremely fast! Doesn't hog down my poor over-worked laptop like a lot of the other programs, so I have no problems logging into it several times a day to do a little top up of each of the accounts.. and now it seems to have no problems with multiple keywords which is fantastic..

Thank you again for creating it, and especially for making it Free.. :))

Not a problem :).

Well, the sleep time was from an old version of the friend adder that kind of isnt needed now. What was happening a while back was that twitters API couldnt keep up with the requests that were piling in for the same account from the same IP. So sleep time is (in milliseconds), the time between each request. However i generally leave it at 0. What i may change it to in the future is make it in seconds, and make it so that you can make it add one per 30 seconds or so. But really i dont think its needed.

Ahh ok, I thought that it was already in seconds, didnt think of milliseconds, so it didnt look like it did anything.. I'll stop playing with that function then lol :)

thanks much.. was just looking for a hummingbird crack, when I found Phoenix... way to go man.. what a treat.

Thanks pyronaut for this great software. I have a question, is there an ip limit for 150 adds per hour? I know about the 1000 limit per day but i havent heard anything about this. Also do u plan for proxies in the future?
Thanks again :)

There is an IP limit but it only applies to things that arent under other limits. For example adding friends and DM's have their own limits, so arent under the IP limit rule. For the most part dont worry about them.

Not going to be adding proxies, not really needed unless i develop an account creator.

ok, i found i cant fount the directory of this tool when i try to use it go with proxyfirewall, because i must use a proxy to visit twitter( ip was banned for a fucked reason), so i need use a proxy. can u tell me how to do it...

O i got your email by the way. Was just busy as hell so didnt have time to reply. So ill just answer your question here.

Either you can stick the proxy into IE directly, or use proxy firewall on Internet Explorer. The requests run through the IE engine (Sort of, not really, but just pretend they do), so if you put a proxy on IE it will work :).

Wait. After typing that, im not so sure if using proxyfirewall on IE will do it... Since im not actually sure how it runs. If it latches onto the EXE when its started or what. If all else fails, just stick the proxy directly into IE and it will work.
