I do digital marketing for several small niche private colleges, but I want to strike out on my own and make some side-money.
I have just purchased my first domain and this will be my first attempt to monetize a website.
A post I read earlier advised to start by aiming to make $5 a month, then scaling as methods become clear. Good idea.
Since it already has 1,000 backlinks or so and I have access to a handful of .edu sites, my current plan is to do affiliate marketing for scholarship websites and eventually, take on advertising fees. My main tactic is to drive traffic via SEO, since I'm a damn good education writer.
The next step in the journey is to sign up for affiliate sites and set up the wordpress site. Does anyone have anytips or webpress themes that they recommend?
