Hi!
I wonder if anybody noticed the pessimisation of sites based on WordPress or other free CMS. They say that Pinguin update hurt rankings of such sites. Does anybody have any kind of information about this? Thank you very much!

Not for my sites. I think if your sites have quality content and are not loaded with spammy links then it doesn't matter what cms you use.....traditionally google have always liked wordpress

Did you use different templates for your sites? Free templates or custom?

I've seen nothing that would suggest that the platform a site is built upon affects it's rankings. In fact, Wordpress - being the most widely-used system among English-speaking sites for sure - would be low on my list of platforms to avoid. Go ahead and use WP. It still works fine for building authoritative, high-ranking sites.

I use mostly paid themes. I use different themes for different niches. I have one particular theme that I like which I have used on 7-8 sites. Its been said that you should use a diversity of themes but then I've spoken to guys who do 100 times the business I do and they are using the same theme on 50 sites so it shouldnt matter...I think if you use something like CTR theme too much you might get a slap but otherwise.....decent content not over optimised with crappy backlinks, then wordpress is perfect.
