Looking for some opinions from the offline vets:

It's that time of the month to start hunting for new clients (ah the joys of outsourcing...) so I'll cut right to the chase.

I've been doing personalized screencap'd video reviews on potential clients websites; I send the DVD's in the mail. Gets decent response, but very time consuming as you could imagine, even with video templates.

However, I just finished doing a 30 second lead capture video that literally took me 10 minutes to do, and only took 2 hours to get 4 front page listings on Google for a local niche keyword.

Fireman Mike had a method where he did a similar thing with the 30 second lead video; he dominated a local keyword with video, but then he did a mass email to everyone in that city's niche.

In that video, he basically said, "I'm dominating this keyword, imagine what I can do for you". He also stated that he used a scarcity tactic by putting all the email addresses of the local business owners of that niche in that email, saying, "I only work with 1 client, If you don't work with me, one of these guys will, and trust me, you'll hear about it".

Cocky? Yes. Does it work? No clue.

Does anyone have experience in his method?

Did I just confuse the fuck out of everyone with this thread?

I'd like to comment, but I couldn't find any references to "Fireman Mike". Could you elaborate - maybe provide a link?

He's referring to the Traffic Geyser techniques in offering seo services to local businesses.

If it worked for "fireman Mike", then it could probably work for you.

OP,

go for it, try it see if it works for you, share your results with us

I tried the fireman Mike method on two sites I had. I did not have any luck whatsoever. I personally think that it is still an e mail that needs to be opened and if it is not then it doesn't matter what you send them. If they open it then I think the video might work. I tracked it as well but that is only so effective and showed only a few opened it. I was part of Jim Cockrums offlinebiz forum where Fireman Mike is a member. There were a lot of people that tried it and got NO response and he was always like I am sure you didn't do it exactly or try a different niche etc. The typical answer was just keep sending them e mails and you will get someone. Guess I rambled but it seems people are having better luck with a personalized critique video of their website versus the scarcity of watch out. Oh by the way most people also had problems dominating the first page like they showed in traffic geyser.

I tried Fireman Mikes method for a dentist site of mine (dominating 5 different keywords), and had NO luck. I sent out 2 emails.

I've come to the conclusion that emails simply don't work.

I'm currently looking for another way to find clients.

I did this also, I even showed the number of phone leads, email leads, and newsletter signups I had in the last month in the video. I proved that the site was already a money making machine... still not a call or email.

I tracked my sent emails with an email marketing program so I know people opened the email as well as clicked through to my video. I'll probably have to follow up w/ a phone call. It could be the emails never got passed the gatekeeper.
