I'm looking to make a very small personal proxy network, much less than 100 nodes. Most would be either a raspberry pi or software on an "always on" PC. All of these would be voluntary, basically utilizing friends and family willing to let me use their network. I work in IT and can easily do the leg work, what I'm wondering is if there is software or such to help manage this. I guess I'm basically looking to make a "legal botnet" unless there's a better term for it. Any links or directions would be helpful. Searching on the forum just leaves me flooded with people selling proxies.

So what's the hardware? Friends' PC's and smartphones?

Raspberry Pi's or old micro form factor computers, or if they don't have an issue with it just software on their normal computers.

Interesting, Scrapoxy is one of the first ones that comes into mind for that sort of thing. There's a lot of other alternatives you can find to that around Github and such. Can't personally recommend any as I've been out of the loop on that scene for a while now. Good hunting.
