Personal instagram account looking for growth

Hello,

I have a personal instagram account I've used for a couple years. Now I'm a freshman in college and i'm looking to reach 1k followers! I'll take any advice or help you guys have, thanks.

You only posted 7 times in all those years? Why not do the follow/unfollow method? Or use very popular hashtags, and like and post comments on other photos.

First, I know this isn't a black hat technique, but content is king. You're not a hot chick, you're not a celebrity ? so nobody cares about your selfies. Find something else to photograph. Pick something you know about and care about and start posting photos related to that. Maybe it's something local or related to what you're majoring in or a hobby you are passionate about. Then identify other accounts that post similar work and follow them, engage with them, comment on and like their photos. Your niche doesn't have to be a super-popular one, in fact it's better if it's not while you're starting out. Once you've made your account a little more palatable, then you can try other techniques you'll find here.

follow as many people that you can, non too many in short time.
And put a lot of likes

You should be able to gain 1k within a week or less. If your account is that old you shouldn't have a problem following a lot of people, but don't go too crazy right at the beginning. Find someone who has a lot of followers who takes similar pictures to you and follow all of his/her followers. Or, look at a picture, look at who liked it, and add all of those people.

you can do this manually and gain a bunch. Or you can use Instagress' free trial (3 days I think?) and it'll do it all for you. 1k is very easily attainable! What the person above said, content is king, so make sure you're posting good content so that people will want to see more of it.

Ok my only concern is when I post a picture and balance the border of 11/likes. It doesn't make much sense to me how I don't get the number of likes I want so when it comes to posting a lot of content I think it would be a better idea to try to get 1k first? I probably need much more content for follow backs and I don't like using apps for random likes. Thanks for your suggestions, I guess I'll progressively gain with content/followers. I also have friends with well over 14k real followers so maybe they'll help.

easily you have a aged account and can do what you want ..... read in the section and go to a niche wich you are interested in. you will not get many followers with a boring selfie account if you have no titts
