Persistent and global thread display options

You can sort thread post by creation time (or whatever) using the thread display options at the bottom of each forum (https://i.imgur.com/gC0MH8Z.png). But, I have to set it each time I recheck the forum, preferences are not saved. Also, it would be great to be able to set it globally (default preferences of thread display).
