hi,

just came to this thread from BHW Banner :)

i'm currently selling shirts on amazon but extremely new to influencer marketing. Is this an effective mthod for shirts / POD products? also is it expensive to do for newbies?

any review copy still available?

please advise, thanks! :D

Wow, the hit rate of bloggers/influencers responding is really high!

Feature request #2:
1) Ability to sort influencers by their metrics. For example, I wish to see which influencers have the most YT subscribers/FB page likes etc

Expensive is relative; I have $39 monthly subscriptions that I don't even remember signing up for from years ago, but I don't want to minimize the cost. Compared to influencer agencies with $20,000 monthly minimums and $200/mo outreach tools we are very affordably priced, and our response rate is as high as agencies, blowing the outreach tools out of the water.

Yes, Amazon is a commonly asked question. Technically you can use it directly, but Amazon changed their TOS on incentivized reviews (on U.S. products). Here's some strategies on how to best use influencer marketing on Amazon products: https://blog.intellifluence.com/amazon-no-more-incentivized-reviews-d109ad66ad64

Review copies went quickly; use BHW50 when you sign up to take 50% off your first bill.

Always enjoy hearing that the response rate is high -- with some of the changes we're making in the next month or two the rate should climb even higher.

We're actually already sorting like this. Currently when you select a network like YouTube it automatically sorts descending order based on subscribers (most to least); for Facebook fan pages the sort order is on page likes. On Twitter it is followers. On LinkedIn it is connections. On Instagram it is followers. Etc. The idea you gave me though is at some point layering on sorts based on engagement...trickier, but something I want to do.

just came on here browsing and found this thread, you have got my mind thinking of so many applications for using your network of influencers , from product reviews to brand and service promotion to gaining good quality contextual guest post links...and more.
i will definitely get to work this week on implementing some projects with which to use you influencer network

My Review:
Started dabbling with this platform and I must admit it's a huge list of influencers for one to go through. These aren't your normal fake followers thing which won't get you noticed. This is quality and genuine list of people who are willing to listen to your offers. You can pitch them with the relevant product, obviously you will need to create the script when it comes to pitching of the product you are promoting. You will eventually need money to make this work so make sure you are in for this with the right product only. There are plethora of influencers to choose from various niche. I managed to get hold of 5 influencers within the niche I was targeting and I will see how it pans out.

Recommended!

EDIT: I wish I did not have to say it, but if you sign up as a brand and try to defraud the influencer base, your account gets banned. I'm hearing complaints from hiring some big audience influencers and trying to skip on payment.

One of the benefits of such a tool is also the downside; it can be used in a variety of ways. For the BHW audience I focused on the benefit of accruing links from bloggers by using the psychological shift of asking for a person to apply one's influence vs just dropping in a link, but many others use just for social proof, just for amplification of existing efforts, and for direct sales.

Thank you for the kind words!

I do agree; using Intellifluence on a throwaway project isn't going to have nearly as much success as if you use to promote your top-tier sites and ecom projects. I'm pleased that you're seeing how different the response rates are on warm vs cold outreach.

Review:

I signed up few weeks ago both as an influencer and as a brand. The menu is really simple, easy to use which is good. There are a lot of influencers in various niches, you can sort them via the filters as you want, I easily found several influencers related to my niche and saved them into my campaign. Since the influenceres are there to be contacted, the succes rate is much higher than contacting them from nowhere. You can easily score guest posts while saving time & effort on outreaching, or just promote your product. There are a lot of possibilites.

As a brand I missed that there are no options to apply to offers, you have to wait until someone contacts you.

Anyway, it's a great, easy to use platform to promote your stuff or get backlinks and @Intellifluence told me that a huge update coming in september so It will be even better.

Nice to see a review from BOTH sides of the aisle.

I want to let you in on a secret; we intended to build an influencer marketing network to diversify traffic away from Google, but in the process, my team created the best way to get links that I've ever been apart of. Considering I've been in SEO since 1997 hopefully that tells you something.

Intellifluence
One of the fastest growing influencer networks on the planet
E-commerce sales, links, and more...

As for writing this post, Intellifluence has 26,000 influencers. Now, this isn't some sort of database that was scraped and cobbled together with string and untested emails. No. Not even close. We have 26,000+ and growing influencers that have JOINED our network because they want to review products, services and give you reviews and links. We've made the perfect matchmaker network for marketers and influencers.

How big is 26,000? Several months back our aggregate audience eclipsed Kim Kardashian's audience.

Why is this growing so fast? And what does this mean for you?
We're growing fast because we understand that everyone has some influence to offer. I'm very serious about this. The college student with a few hundred Instagram followers and a Tumblr account might be dismissed by those that don't understand how influence works, but we do know, so we grab them. We grab all of them. And now you can use them in whatever way makes the most sense to you.

Social Proof

If you're starting a new project and want to make it seem legit you can, of course, do the "As seen on..." headers that we all used to do 2007. It may still work a little, but not nearly as well as throwing a couple bucks to that attractive looking young person to hold your product. Real, organic looking customers holding your product is what we all aim for, and it is EASY to get. Does this sound like you? Stop reading and sign up now.

Social Sales

The next step up after establishing social proof on your landing page is to send converting traffic to it. You're going to need to understand who your buyer is and I've written a ridiculously long guide on this that I can PM you a link to if you want, but once you know you can apply filters on Intellifluence to find their peers and use those peers to target your ideal customers. Filter by social network or blogs, by geography, audience size, expected compensation type (product or cash), and expected compensation amount.
Don't take my word for how easy this once you have your customer persona dialed in. Read about how Shoplo used us in a couple use cases for social sales:
http://en.shoplo.com/blog/ecommerce-tools-to-increase-online-sales/#Being internet famous

Links, Links, Links
I didn't anticipate this. I should have, but I didn't. The guy that was sometimes TLA's biggest customer, spending $250,000/month didn't realize he was building a link network.

Ok, I'll back up. It isn't a link network, per se. What has happened is by bringing blogging influencers into our network and having pitches occur entirely within our platform we have reduced a few barriers. I'm going to talk more about the psychology of this at UnGagged Las Vegas in November 2017, but here's a short overview...

What do you think will have the better response rate:

Marketer A cold emails blogger offering to write a guest post, buy a post, or whatever it is that cold pitching marketers like to do (come on, you know).

Marketer B contacts blogger through Intellifluence with a pitch: As a fashion influencer, I'd love for you to review our new line of t-shirts. They are organically sourced from leaves that fall in the moonlight 10 feet from the Berkley campus. Since you mention wanting cash or product, I'd like to offer you $20 for your time and send you the shirt.

Marketer B is going to win everytime, because this marketer knows in advance what the blogger wants. PLUS, the simple shift of being asked to apply influence, on a platform the blogger willingly signed up for, increases the close rate.

Does it actually increase the close rate? Oh yeah. Most digital agencies that have signed up as brands use us primarily to work with bloggers. I just didn't expect it, but it's fantastic and creating a win / win situation for both parties. I'm not going to share which bloggers are in our system; it looks like 5,500 with blogs right now...real people with blogs, writing real posts.

You can do the same and put them to work, starting at $39/mo. Not good enough? How about a free trial? All our plans are currently set to let you use them for 14 days, free. We use Stripe to manage payments and sign-ups, so we will ask for a credit card -- it's the best way to control fraud and keep our network of influencers growing happily.

Amplification
The final use case I've seen which I find interesting is amplification. Let's say you've already done a lot of work and done plenty of marketing, but just want to pop that special post again, get some more social juice, etc.

It is SUPER easy to pitch low cost, higher audiences in non-US markets to tweet/retweet/Facebook share/Linkedin Share/Pinterest pin whatever project it is that you're working on. We've already got people arbitraging in the platform to make use of geographical / economic shifts where a big audience size in Brazil or Spain might not be recognized and utilized as quickly as it is in the US or UK. It's crazy, and a valid use of the platform. If this sounds like you? Go amplify your projects!

Let's talk influencer marketing
This is a sales thread, but too many people seem to be approaching influencer marketing wrong and I want to help to fix that as much as I can. Have influencer marketing questions? Please post them below and we'll try to get to them. Every sale we make through these links benefits BHW so we help you, please buy through the links instead of directly so we can benefit the community.

REVIEW COPIES?
I'll give away 10 free month coupons to the first 10 commenters. Get in, get your 14-day free trial PLUS a free month after that; once they're gone, they're gone. As a business employing 8 people on this project right now we have some very real costs, so I need to keep this sane.

Interested on this one. Any reviews?

I want to provide a bit more pitch advice. Sometime I see initial outreach that starts like "Hey, do you do reviews?"

That's actually not necessary and ends up reducing your overall acceptance rate because influencers will wonder why you're asking that in a network where both parties have signed up. It's a lot like joining a service like Tinder and then asking if the person is there looking for a person to spend time with...yes. A better question, in both Tinder and Intellifluence would be to use a bit of known profile data and turn it into a question wherein you're providing the answer at the same time. It can be phrased in such a way as to create cognitive dissonance if the answer is no.

For instance, if you're reaching out to makeup youtubers, don't ask if they review on their YouTube channel -- obviously they do. Instead say something along the lines of "Your makeup YouTube channel looks perfect for my brand. Based on your profile, I'd like to send you $___ worth of my product and $___ in cash in exchange for an in-depth review. How does that sound?"

If you are applying your filters and keeping your outreach focused I think you'll really like the response rate when you do that. That above example tries to mirror what the influencer states they are looking for. By reducing the number of unnecessary email exchanges and mirroring what their needs are you can get to a conclusion quicker -- faster responses and more positive responses.

Thank you very much for the kind words. I especially like the feedback on having to wait for offers as an influencer -- guess what? That's one of the big features in our current dev push. I'm very excited about it.

I would love a review copy.

All review copies have been claimed, but you can use BHW50 to get 50% off your first bill.

So I signed up, on mobile, which isn't the best to use with this platform, as you dont know what the metrics mean - and there's no help articles on the footer to help you decipher the platform.

Some of the payouts these influencers are asking for are pretty steep, if I am gonna spend over a $1,000 it's going to be for an article on Forbes or something.

There's no way to verify these stats it seems as I can only see numbers, a picture, title, and some areas of influence. Since there's no explanation of the metrics, not sure if their site's Alexa rank is included, because it should be - the best way to decipher a blog/guest post farm.

Also I would like to echo the above reviewers sentiments about allowing Influencers to reach out, there's no way I am going through 45 pages of Influencers for a general topic like 'Business'.

The idea seems promising, but will have to check this out on desktop view, but as of now I would rate this platform 2.5/5 stars...

That's true, but I was able to find influenceres with 1M followers in the $0-49 range. Also you can check their blogs via your favorite backlink checker and see yourself if they are worth contacting for a guest post or not.

Ok, so after I got back to a desktop, which was WAY better, I was able to navigate and verify social channels. Unfortunately, I didn't see any influencers in a direct niche I was searching for, and none in a more broader category within business "finance." I think adding Alexa rank for blogs would be a great measure besides just the link score.

Since I didn't see anything for my global niches or local seo niches, I had to cancel. I think having a better layout for mobile would be helpful, and maybe once this platform gets off the ground I will take another look. I think this platform is best for Amazon review affiliates, or those that have health, travel or mom blogs. I will change my rating to a 3.5 out of 5 because the idea shows promise..

Feature request #3.

At present, I can't see which influencer has replied me or not. As a result, I have to manually go through each and every influencer chat logs.

Would be good to have an option to show "unread" status, or even similar to facebook whereby unread messages have a blue dot beside it.

We're definitely working on improving UI significantly, so this helps knowing that the pain points we've encountered over the past 9 months aren't just flukes. Influencers will soon be able to pitch brands, though the initial use case was for those wanting better outreach - that change will be more for switching to inbound review process. It's a bit different as a philosophy so some extra filters will need to exist, but we're on it.

The problem with using Alexa is it is easily manipulated...way too easy, to the point where I'm asked to do it frequently. LRT is going to be the safest bet because it is updated more frequently and is based more on reality than easily juiced signals.

As for finance category, I'll ensure we get more influencers there for a future test if you want it. I will agree that B2C is much stronger currently than B2B but I'm working on something to change that -- it'll just take time.

Yep, this is exactly what we have the current dev underway. You guys are going to love it -- it'll be more like using Outlook in terms of understanding who is doing what, what stage they are in, unread, etc. I'll update the thread when it is live, but it is looking to be about a month out since it is an overhaul of how the data is manipulated and reported on.

Can I use your service for affiliate or client local sites content marketing? If yes,can I have your trial option link to check out before moving into the monthly package.

You can technically use it for any type of content marketing; the only real restriction you'll find yourself coming up against is meeting threshold requirements of the bloggers you're wanting to work with: no one really likes receiving a pitch that says "do this and you'll get X% of sales" but they do like being given cash + rev share.

All our plans have the 14-day free trial, and we make it really easy to cancel. If things aren't what you need, click cancel at any time and you'll be fine -- all payment information is stored at Stripe, not with us. I seriously love Stripe too; can't recommend it enough to others building SaaS products.

72 hour bump!

Some of the most frequent questions I get are "how do I pitch?" and "do you have influencers for me?"

Since I recently answered the question on how to effectively pitch, I'd like to paraphrase what I once wrote on the subject of determining buyer personas, which is how you can determine which influencers you need to be going after anyhow.

How to Determine Buyer Personas

I covered how to build content marketing plans to influence buyers and how to use influence to drive your content marketing, both of which involved understanding the buyer persona; here’s a not very quick way to determine come possibilities:

1. Take your last 100 customers (or less?—?you just need to have “some” data in order to test).

2. Research each customers’ social profiles. I used to recommend Vibeapp, but it was purchased by Fullcontact recently, so you might need to use a tool like that if you don’t already have his or her social profiles.

3. For each customer, who does this person aspire to be? Who are the heroes being followed, regardless of subject matter expertise? This can be figured out by sorting on raw follower count?—?the aspirational influencers tend to have larger counts relative to the normal population.

4. Who influences the customer on your particular subject matter? This can be more difficult to determine sometimes, but across a handful of customers you might find 1 or 2 clearly authoritative figures that are experts in your field, or are at least perceived as experts.

5. Who are your customers’ peers? This is the easiest piece, thanks to tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Plug in each of your customers and look at 1st level connections and start drawing comparisons.

6. Iterate. For the large lists of peers you’ve gathered, you’ll now need their social profiles. As you cycle through, start looking for patterns on who is also following the same celebrities and authority figures. Pull each of these individuals into a separate worksheet.

7. On the filtered worksheet you probably have a fairly large number of peers that seem to be influenced by the same celebrities and authority figures. It was exhausting, but this is actually a targeted buying list if you’re so inclined to reach out directly. It is also data you can finally use to build your buyer persona. What are the ages, genders, professions, socioeconomic factors, and interests? You’ll likely be able to segment these individuals into rough groups that now represent who is more inclined to purchase what you’re selling than a random Internet user.

Or…because peer discovery is rather inexpensive, you can simply take your last 100 customers and try to match each up with the influencer that appears the most similar in our system, saving 200+ hours of research time. Buyer persona self-selection in this case works by what on the surface might look like a shotgun approach because it allows you to track which product reviews resulted directly in sales, which not only pads the bottom line, but actually quickly filters random purchases from lookalike purchasing. The beauty is the process can be repeated as frequently as you wish to dial in your buyer personas, and can help you to test out new audiences without a significant spend.

Good luck!
