Quick Update:
A number of BHW members have PM'd me asking a couple of questions about the WP Link Ninja plugin;
1) Is it really possible to do what this plugin claims to do?
2) How can this plugin help my site?
To answer those two questions the answer to #1 is: 100% YES
What this plugin does is nothing short of a miracle really, it's borderline black magic. As soon as you activate the plugin on your site is instantly and automatically scans every page and post of your site to find any external links and when it finds them is adds a little magic and makes that link 100% disappear from eyes of all known bots and spiders which includes Google
It doesn't cloak or mask those links, it literally removes them from the source code of your pages/posts so it can then control when those links should appear. When a human visitor comes to your site the plugin makes the links appear just like normal but when it detects any type of bot or spider then it prevents the link from appearing in your source code.
Again, this isn't link masking, this is far beyond anything like that. I'll say it again, the plugin removes external links from your source code and then controls when those links should appear back in the source code or not. And when the links are hidden there is no trace of them in your source code at all.
Seriously, this is so far beyond link masking or cloaking, it's on a whole new level.
So, for question #2: How can this help your site?
The two main scenarios would be that of Organic SEO and any type of PPC marketing.
The most obvious setting would be where you have a site that you want to rank in Google but because your site contains affiliate links or links to sites that Google deems as low quality/questionable content then Google is holding your site back and won't let it rank anywhere near the first page because of those links.
So, if you removed those links then Google would rank your site higher but then what's the point in ranking your site higher if you have to remove your affiliate links, right? This is where the WP Link Ninja plugin becomes your new best friend in your fight against Google. Because the plugin will stop Google from seeing those 'questionable/affiliate' links then Google will stop holding back your site.
So you can have your cake and eat it while laughing all the way to the bank (at Googles expense).
