If contracting for a logo, is it only one proposed, or are a few proposed and we select one?

So, the logo was received well within the stated deadline, and 3 examples were given to me.

Every single one was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend this service. The service provider is easy to work with, and does not require much instruction at all! Probably the best graphics guy I have found at this price. Great job!

Albert was really helpful - he designed a great sale thread for my new business. His first draft helped me get a clearer idea of what I was wanting, and he was happy to revise the first draft. I'm very happy with the final result, and wish Albertjohn well for future design projects.
