This looks promising! best of luck to you. I haven't had experience with clickbank yet and I'd like to join in on this, though so far I didn't have luck finding good keywords for this particular niche. It seems as first page is full of monster websites like webmd, health and etc. even on longtail keywords. dunno if I should keep looking further or move onto other niches..

I've had a few people mention the keywords for depression are too difficult to rank for, so I've decided to give a short tut on how I do KW research.

Basically, what I do is this:

1: Enter a list of 10 niche keywords I can think of associated with the product (ie depression, anxiety, ptsd etc..) into the Scrapebox keyword scraper. Scrape keywords. (If you don't use scrapebox, just use the Google Keyword Planner to get a BIG list instead and skip step 2)
2: Copy the list that is scraped to the left hand (transfer) side of scrapebox. Scrape keywords gain. Once that's finished, remove duplicates. This will give you a massive list of keywords to look at.
3: Copy list (or part of it - it will be a huge list so you may have to do it in sections) and paste into Market Samurai. Analyze keywords. Make a coffee because this might take a while.
4: Use MS filters to filter anything with less than 100 searches a day or high competition etc. Open each KW in another tab (must be a $ keyword) and check "SEO competition" for each of them.

It honestly took me 30 minutes to do the above, and within 5 minutes of checking competition for each of the hundreds of keywords I had in MS to check, I found this:

Keyword - "how to overcome depression" (No doubt this will get saturated in about 10 minutes, so it will be wise to find your own)
Exact Searches - 487 per day.
Title/Competition - Just 2%
SEOC - 135,000 (anything below 250k is good)

On checking the SEO Competition, #1 is a helpguide page (in my search results in MS) and has a LOT of backlinks, however none of the others have more than 100 links to the page, and most have less than 10 links.
2 of the top 10 are news articles.
1 is a wikihow link (#3)
None have the top10 have the KW in all of the Title/Desc/Head/URL, and most have none of these done.

That keyword is honestly perfect, and took me less than an hour to find - it even starts with "how to" so is obviously a buyer ($) keyword. It would not take much to rank for this in the top 10 very quickly. If you were smart, you could add another word or two on the end of the keyphrase and get traffic from even longer keywords that start the same as it.

If you follow the above, it shouldn't take long to find 15-20 keyphrases to build a 15 page MNS around, which should be easy to rank for with the minimum of investment in SEO packages.

Keyword research can be a laborious process if done manually and can be frustrating, the above should help automate the process a little. The key is to think outside the box for your seed keywords, then use tools to help speed up the process.

For anybody who is new to this, try to look for keywords in the 3k-15k exact searches per month (100-500 per day) range with low competition. I recommend using Market Samurai as it has a 15 day free trial period - if you search BHW there is a way to get this trial over and over for free.

Watch all the videos in the MS dojo and pay attention to the golden rules of keyword research - the "SEO Competition" tab in Market Samurai is very useful to find out whether a keyword is saturated or not. Basically, red is hard to break into the top 10, green is easy.

Make sure your on-page seo is good too before you start any off-site seo package purchases. Build each page on your site around a keyword - if you are using wordpress, "SEO YOAST" is a very good free plugin which guides you through the process.

Very soon, our top affiliates will be those who built a site and got it ranked for low-medium competiton keywords using the above or similar processes. This will take much longer of course than direct sources of traffic, however the rewards are sure to be far more. The product is still ony 4 weeks old on Clickbank and is gathering momentum, so now is the time to be building niche sites while competition is still low.

A good Niche site will have a minimum of 5 pages of useful info and be targeting keyphrases on each page - although we recommend a minimum 15 pages to help with ranking.

Hope that helps.

I'm interested and I would really like to promote, can you direct me on how to start? Should I go for a domain? Or for now concentrate on YouTube and social comments?

Wow, that was a really nice guide! thank you. I have already checked that exact keyword earlier and I liked the numbers, though I wasn't sure if I'd be able to outrank those sites. Now I have hope. Back to researching.

I'm interested and I would really like to promote, can you direct me on how to start? Should I go for a domain? Or for now concentrate on YouTube and social comments?

Literally in the post above you Freddy has outlined general directions to start.

hey do you guys have any advice on promoting my this i've created a review blog for the product but im finding it hard to get traffic i've tried using things like buzzbundle but it tends to just not comment to blogs etc do you guys have any other alternatives?

There is a post earlier on in this thread which has 3 or 4 links to other threads on BHW which should help you out. Let me know if you have any specific enquiries on how to implement them at our support email.

Hey, will be trying this out, emailing you guys right now!

Responded to your mail, let us know if we can help any further.

Buzzbundle is slow and buggy if you use it to its full capacity, however I figured out a neat little trick on how to speed up the process and use it as a mini-search engine in conjunction with your browser - I wrote a mini-tutorial on it in this post - http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/359445-easy-100-day-perfect-noobs-post7619824.html#post7619824

As for tips:

Work smart, not hard: although if you do both you become that guy in the movie 'Limitless'.
Research, research a lot, but take action. Mancar487 likes to say "don't get paralisys of analysis", once you have read each of the above threads, take action straight afterwards.

I made a spelling mistake, it annoys me. One "thanks" to the first person to find it...

Paralisys. I'll claim my one thanks now. lol

Kidding aside I have started doing the research for relevant, highly traffic, easily marketable keywords. Will ping support for further queries and because your team replies asap. :)

That Buzzbundle guide was great i'm slowly gaining hops. How many hops do you think i should get to before i consider changing anything?

Freddy. Aside from meathead's "SEO-jacking" method, what's your second go to option for ranking in the long run?

Long run, as mentioned before, create a MNS and get it ranked for low-medium competition keywords.

At least 1000. Mike Geary says the biggest mistake he sees affiliates make is them assuming a method does not work after a few hundred clicks and giving up. You could get no sales in the first 500 clicks, then 10-15 in the next 500, there is no pattern to it and I see it happen on a daily and weekly basis. The only way to see if something is truly working is to let it run long enough.

Mike actually suggests 3000 clicks to be a good guage, I think 1000 is ok.

Mancar & Freddy, thank you guys for all the tuts and tips you're giving about CB.
I've already processed a lot of info about CB, and your threads seem to be the most relevant.
Now I already passed through "paralysis by analysis";) and ready to start building the MNS.
Freddy's post about Market Samurai was the last element I was missing.
I hope for your future support and going to be a supperaffiliate!

To give my two cents to this thread, I`ve been working on this niche for the last two weeks and have been completely obsessed with it. Having not made a simple sale, yet I'm still borrowing ideas for articles to distribute on the internet and gsa is my favorite delivery guy. The funny thing is I`ve had 80 hops so far.. about 30 are my own click to test links and banners :D ... So, my reason for failure is not advertising properly.. I`ve built a mns, got involved in fb groups with real account and yet I haven't done a damn bit of advertising. I don't dare to spam the hell out of my MNS (I consider it a money site, even if its a cost site atm like all my other sites in my "1 month extra long IM" career). So I've built a subdomain wordpress review site and have plans to promote it better than I've done before with the self hosted msn. GSA and senuke have been very helpful to spam the hell out of that subdomain. About James, he's a very helpful guy. James man, your name is all over the internet now.

If you would like us to give any pointers/tips on your mns/money site then please get in touch - you know we will do everything in our power to help you succeed.

Don't ignore SEnuke for creating tier one links (as long as you have your own list of sites to blast via footprints and not the standard ones SENuke give you). If your articles are hand-spun, posted on high PR sites (throw in a dozen or so low PR domains too) perfect English and 98%+ unique it can really speed up the ranking process. If you need any tutorials on how to do this, see the videos on Matthew Woodward's site, as he goes in-depth on how to do it properly. That site is pure gold as far as info on SEO goes in my opinion. Spinning for tier 1 links takes a good 3-4 hours per article to do correctly and is a laborious process, but done right it is time well-spent.

For tier 2 links the articles don't have to be that unique as long as they are readable, for tier 3 spam away to your heart's content!

About James, he's a very helpful guy. James man, your name is all over the internet now.

Mancar said this to me a few weeks/months ago - "If you work hard for your affiliates, give them solid advice that makes them money and go the extra mile for them, they will be loyal and support you for years to come". As a result of that, I do what I can for them, regardless of their experience level, knowledge, or whether I should be in bed sleeping - so far there is not a damn thing Mancar has been wrong about and he will help just about anybody in the knowledge that Karma always pays a visit.
Probably the biggest highs I have got in my short time as a Vendor, is when someone new to IM has emailed me and thanked us for helping them make their first sale(s). Thank you for your endorsement and kind words - flattery just makes me work harder so I don't dissapoint!

this looks like a promising product.

it certainly has potential

So what are you waiting for? Start promoting it already!

DING! 54 hops and 1 sale it definitely works guys, I'm going to try and improve my traffic now to see if i can get better results :)

I have to say thanks for to help guys especially freddy and mancar, my first CB sale hopefully one of many

Here you go.....

This will teach you the basics of internet marketing, i.e. how the funnels to a Clickbank sales page work, it can also make you money within 24 hours of taking action if you read the whole thread (yes, it's long, but if you read it like a book it's a page-turner). Also, take a really good look at the reason why vendors always say "build a landing page" - they say it because they see the figures - ie: it is a more profitable way to promote the product than direct-linking:

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...ect-noobs.html

This will teach you how to choose the right Clickbank product (ie: our product(s)):

This will teach you exactly what gravity on Clickbank is:

This is a slightly darker post for me to recommend, its moral bar is a little too low for my taste. However, it is well-written and is a good bed-time story; Amazon would probably charge $2.79 for it on Kindle. I could honestly say if it cost $27 on Clickbank and I bought it 5 years ago, I wouldn't have asked for a refund. Why? It inspired me. That's all you really need to do in this life to be successful: Inspire others....

Not afterwards as in next week, try to imagine someone sitting on your shoulder saying "when would 'now' be a good time to do that?"
Basically, each day - take action. Don't just sit there and read/whatever - act upon your positive thoughts.
When you fail, it's a good thing. The most successful people in this world have usually failed the most.

If I can help in any other way, please let me know.

Hi Freddy,

I checked that keyword in Market Samurai and it seems to actually have quite a bit of SEO competition. All sites on first page have Domain Age of 10+ years, and most of them have a ton of backlinks and are authorities, like wikihow, webmd, or stuff like that. What settings are you using on Market Samurai? Just curious so I can get better results.

Thank you

Hi SnipeRRR,

Here's the screenshot for the keyword in question. The links shown are all after changing to the historical links tab.

keyword research.png

As you can see, other than the helpguide result at the top and the zenhabits article, the number of backlinks to the ranking page are very small. The age of the domains does make it a little more difficult of course, but in this case not by much. If the results were all medical sites I would move on to others, but you can see a couple of news articles in that top 10, so it should not be difficult.

None of the results have the keyword in all of the Title/URL/Desc/Head. It is interesting to see, that the two news page results that have made the top 10, are two results that have the most "Y" in those areas, ie 2 or 3 out of 4. Having your keyword in all 4 of those sections is very powerful for ranking purposes.

In essence, this is a keyword that can be cracked if on-site seo is good enough, and of course, the article you write is interesting.

In total that day, I came up with 10 keywords within an hour which somebody could rank for - all have over 100 searches a day.

Don't just look at the size and the number of backlinks to a whole site in the MS results - it is the links to the page, onpage seo and of course, the content you write, that are most important. If you get those things right you can rank very quickly.

To prove how powerful getting your on page seo and the keyword in all 4 areas is - see this pic:

how to fight depression.png

See the result at the bottom? That has ranked on the first page of google for that keyword (phrase is the name of the pic) without any backlinks in either historical or fresh majestic index. The result at #2 is not a health site, yet with good onpage seo it ranks highly with only 19 links to the page - that is how powerful getting your phrase in all 4 areas really is.

I hope that helps!

thanks for this tutorial. i checked the serps and only saw the seo competition you mentioned (135,000) with the keyword in quotes. is this correct? kw in quotes mean the user is more targeted. but only works with enough volume
