I meant it like NapsteR has explained:

He meant since its a wordpress site you can buy theme(he said plugin mistakenly I think) that quarter of this package's cost (50$) and make it look good. That's what we did .But if you want to design by yourself it would cost more than 200$. That is what he meant in his previous point.

Web2.0 alone will not be enough to rank the sites. You need complete seo to increase the authority. I wouldn't suggest any blackhat though.

So (my own) pbn links aren't a good way to get links for these sites? I am not sure is there any better kind of links out there but I am open to seuggestions. What kind of links do you build in your seo packages?

Here's a small update:

After I transferred the site, I installed analytics on it to check it further. Over the last couple of days, I have seen the site already start getting traffic for some keywords that the site wasn't optimized for. However, these keywords were related to the ones that the site was optimized for. I usually see this as a good indicator that the search engines sort of 'understand' what this site is about.

Yes, subscription pacakges are the way to go if you cant do it yourself. New content and constant seo is the key for authority sites. I have 2 sites making 8k and 3k in average. You calculate the ROI.
