What is the scope on firefox please....

I'm not sure what you mean by scope - but I will assume you mean functionality. In case you meant something else, do let me know.

The Firefox version lags behind the chrome version because it took a long while for the Firefox add-on to get approved. The Firefox add-on is currently at version 1.4 while the Chrome extension is at version 1.5. The new scrolling feature and google indexation information will not be found in the current version of FF add-on. However, we are adding that functionality to it right now and so hopefully should have an FF add-on update soon.

Going ahead we will try and keep both the chrome and FF add-ons on the same current version. But we will build functionality for the chrome extension first and later port it to Firefox since the chrome publishing process is much more faster.

Sorry I just meant when will the FF plugin be ready :)

We have released a new version update (2.0) of the chrome extension for GoDaddy Auctions.

Features/Changes:

  • Estibot Value
  • WhoIs data (Age, Creation, Expiration & Modification Dates)
  • SimilarWeb Country Rank
  • Majestic Anchor Texts
  • Total Pages Indexed & Total Backlinks by Google

Note that not all domains will currently show data for Estibot and Majestic Anchor Texts due to limitations in the API budget. However, we are hoping over time to increase the budget and get data for all domains in the system. If you have already installed the extension, it should get updated automatically to the latest version. If you want to manually update it to the latest version, you can follow the steps below

  1. In Chrome, click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) on the top-right. Then click Settings.
  2. Now click Extensions on the left sidebar.
  3. At the top of the extensions page, ensure that the Developer mode is checked.
  4. Click the ?Update extensions now? button that showsn up when Developer mode is enabled.

If you have not installed it yet, we highly recommend you take it for a spin

We will be updating the Firefox addon with the same feature set in a week or so and I will post here when that is live.

If you have any questions or face any issues, please do let me know here.

The Firefox version has also been updated. To manually update the addon in your browser follow the steps below.

  1. Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions
  2. Click the Settings button at the top to reveal a drop down menu. Click "Check for Updates". You should get the message "An update is available" next to the add-on
  3. Click "Update Now"

If you have not installed the add-on, you can install it from here

Apart from the features mentioned in the post above, two additional features were introduced in this Firefox version (that have been in the chrome version for a while)
  • Scroller - If you setup "Highlighting options", a scroller shows up on the right side with an up and a down arrow. This lets you scroll from one highlighted domain to another. This is very useful if you want to quickly see all domains on the page that have say Trust Flow > 20
  • Google Index Icon - Right after the domain name a "G" icon will indicate that the domain was indexed by Google. If this icon is absent it indicates that the domain was not indexed. (The total number of indexed pages is also shown in the popup)

The chrome extension now supports NameJet, SnapNames, DynaDot and Sedo. If you guys want this implemented on any other website like Flippa, please do let me know and I'll try to get that done.

Since the extension needs new permissions, once it is auto-updated, you will need to Re-enable it. Once it is re-enabled, the metrics will start showing up on the websites above. If you want to disable the extension on any specific website, you can do so from the options page.

The Firefox version should be out in a week or so. I'll update here when its updated.

P.S. Changed the name of the chrome extension from "Better Godaddy Auctions" to "Domain Auction Metrics by DomCop" since we now support more websites.

I've installed this extension. Btw thanks for sharing with us :)

Glad you find it useful.

Keyword volume & CPC, DomainScope metrics, spam flags and more coming up on it soon!
