Been using this shared hosting for 3 days, and this is my honest review:

Price:
The pricing is a bit expensive compared to big name companies like namecheap and hostgator. However it is still pretty reasonable and I got a dedicated IP.

Speed:
No complaints about speed. Average load time is around 2 seconds, which is a little better than hostgator and a lot better than namecheap. Please keep in mind I haven tested the speeds under heavy load.

Interface:
PowerUpHosting does an amazing job with their UI. You don't need to remember some crazy password to login to Cpanel, as you can access Cpanel through the client area. Everything expected is there. A+ in this field.

Support:
This is where they really stand out. They have hands down the best support I've ever seen in a hosting company.

The average response time for my tickets was under 10 minutes. They always have someone online, their staff speaks excellent english, and know the technical aspects of servers.

I had a problem with php that took multiple hours to solve, but they did it No problem while constantly keeping updated. This is what I like to see.


Overall, their support is well worth the extra $2 a month compared to other hosts. For PBNs it's a bit costly, but i will definitely be using them for future moneysites.

I've risked and bought a VPS from them, as I had some previous good experience with the service. And that VPS stared quick and works good.

Hello,

We sincerely apologize for the issue that had occurred recently and we are making necessary steps in order to prevent this from happening in the future. We have posted a full update on Facebook. I am providing the same details here:

Starting Sept 18th we noticed anomalies in the network tables. We had attributed this to a planned maintenance which was going on at the exact same time. After the maintenance window was over, we noticed that traffic was still fluctuating, so we took action and contacted the proper NOC.

In the early hours of Sept 19th, we started having major packet loss and subsequently lost connection on two of our lines in Los Angeles. Although customers within the Los Angeles area were not impacted, anyone accessing the network from outside of California was experiencing packet loss.

It was at this time we learned that a cut fiber was the issue and that two of our upstream providers were affected.

We re-routed all traffic through our other providers which were not affected by the fiber cut, and traffic has been normalized.

We are working hard to come up with better ways to detect, react to, and avoid such issues, and adding even more redundancy into our core network in Los Angeles (LAX1) facility.

Please note that all customers in other areas outside of LAX1 were not affected by this outage.
