You need an Ahrefs account to use the Ahrefs module inside SEM Compass. This only applies to Ahrefs, not the other tools. This is because the agreement terms with Ahrefs and SEM Compass have changed.

I agree with you it is deceiving.
I will changing the front of the website to reflect this right after my current task.
Once the website copy has been changed I will let you all know here.

It wasn't intended to be deceiving. Initially Ahrefs was a partner just like everyone else however they changed the terms and conditions for SEM Compass. I have kept the Ahrefs module in there for those that already have an account.

The new website copy will view the Ahrefs module as an "integration" and will be separated from the other tools. I will also change the forum thread and remove Ahrefs altogether.
This will take place next week. Stay tuned for an update!

You will find most of the value from the SEMrush module and WhiteSpark module.
Both these modules are useful if you are doing competitive analysis (and keyword research) or citation building for a local business.
