Thank you for your question. VPS would definitely let you avoid downtime due to issues caused by other users. If you're referring to the downtime today, it was caused by heavy DDoS on another customer. The automated DDoS protection failed to pick up the attack on time, so the shared server went offline for a while. This shouldn't happen again as the DDoS mitigation systems have now been fine-tuned for similar cases, but VPS is still in many ways better than shared hosting in many ways. Search "shared hosting vs vps" on Google and you'll find plenty of reasons why.

The ticket has been answered. Please note that your situation does not count as a downtime. You're unmanaged VPS client and your server was accessible via SSH. Any other service running on the VPS is under your management and we do not monitor its uptime. As an example, if Apache crashed (like in your case), you are expected to restart it - either via your control panel, or SSH. There's gazillion of reasons as to why Apache can lock up, and in case of unmanaged service, we do not monitor that. The client is expected to do that.

Please stop spreading misinformation. uptimerobot.com reports your VPS has NOT had any issues for quite some time, yet you say that your site is down. Same with our site - it has not been down. If you are experiencing issues, it's most likely related to you locally. http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/sharkserve.rs
