I like this much better than the sites I created with completely automated tools (like FCS, RankerX, SE Nuke, etc.). Our sites look real. I just started adding links to back up my AFM (hand) made Web 2.0 sites yesterday. After doing it with AFM I can see why there are so many automated failures. I also see why they are so easy to spot as ?fake?. No site Titles, no navigation, no about me and contact information, prefabbed text boxes with Latin writing in them all over the pages, etc. A real site might have this stuff for a couple of weeks while the owner tries to figure out what to do with the look and feel but then they are going to get rid of it, a real owner would clean that stuff up. Full auto tools don't do that. (don't get me wrong, full auto still has a place in my tool box, that is how I am backing up my hand made (AFM) sites. but they will never be a first string player again unless dramatic changes happen)
It takes longer to do it this way, but I don't expect to see more than 10-15 percent of my sites get taken down. And for the sites that make it past the first month than they are probably there forever. (here is a trick I learned the hard way, Tumblr doesn't like long text posts, they take those down, but if you put a cool video on your site and then post it to Tumblr using your blog as the "source", its all good) That is how you lose the 10-15 percent, by being stupid. Or at least that is how I lost my 10-15%
I wold imagine Google?s next update will target Web 2.0?s that have only a page or two. I?m not Google but that is what I would look at. It is just seems so obvious that it should happen. They will probably look for a way to "browbeast" Web.2.0 sites into cracking down on little sites with no activity or something else obvious. Or maybe just not count links from sites with less than 4 indexed pages from a subdomain or something. Everyone knows the power of parasites, so it seems obvious to do something about them. But AFM users don't have to worry about that. Our stuff looks good.
