I went to post this yesterday but the board went down, so i saved it and here it is. I've been getting quite a few PM's about getting comments to stick, so i thought i'd answer here along with a few questions in the thread.

Do they get approved? Yeah, however your mileage will vary depending if you think outside the box or not. Writing "Hi nice post" won't get you a high success rate. However i just checked a unique string of text in quotes for one of my comment runs, there's 83,000 results. I even had the author of the "Wordpress for Dummies" book approve one of my spam comments on her blog lol.
Will you get nailed by Askimet? Same as above, writing "Hi nice post" and dropping an anchor text link for mortgages and running 100k comments chances are yes. But if your doing that, don't mix black with white get a $2 .info and drive links to it so your money URL doesn't get Askimet blacklisted, and if you can't change your IP by resetting your modem use good proxies.
Here is a good tip for everyone for high approval.
Buy a $2 info, or a $7 .com to make things look less spammy. Throw up a basic page, no ads, no affiliate links and nothing commercial. A good one is a personal or family homepage something like:

Don't worry if it looks like shit, that's actually good you won't look like a savvy spamming webmaster. Looking retarded is a bonus here, because what we then do is load up UWCS and for our comment put something really stupid like:
Hello, i've been browsing around your site and it looks really really neat. I'm building a family home page and struggling to make it look good, everytime i touch something i mess it up. How hard was it to build your site? Could someone like me with no experience do it, and add family update pages without wrecking it every time?

Done, hit the spam button. Then what? You let it incubate for a week or two while all your comments get approved, then you can either switch it out for a money page, 301 it to a money site or just leave it as is and pepper it with links and funnel the juice to your money pages.
You can make links wheels, spoke and hubs or whatever the new name is this month using this technique.
