if you are worried about them, you can order Safe or Hybrid SAPE where the majority of sape links are in tier 2.i am still scared of getting sape links for my site
we only use the higher quality sape links (PR/DA over 20) and only get links from english sites with TLDs and if SAPE ever does go down and get penalized we will remove and replace the sape links with links from other networks.
