Please forgive my ignorance , I am on a very steep learning curve at present. I have downloaded backlink miner and signed up with moz api . When I run the checker I am only seeing 13 baclinks at the bottom.

Although it says there are over 200 at ahrefs am I to assume I still need a paid up account there to see these , also is there any tutorials tips etc I could have a peek at to get the best from the software.

Sorry for the basic questions.

Can you add a "check for updates" feature as well as a way to check our proxies to the software?

Hey Guys,

For those asking about updates, the software automatically prompts you to install an update if there is one. If there is no update notification then there is not an update. To double check that you have the most recent version, when the software first launches on the "blue" verification screen the lastest version is "1.4.283.0"

The ahrefs, and majestic figures are just a summary letting you know how many backlinks those particular providers have for the site/url you are researching but the software does not pull backlinks from those providers. If you have an account with ahrefs or majestic then you can import the backlink data using the import menu.

I highly recommend signing up for an webmeup account as they have a huge backlinks databases that sometimes will include more links than ahrefs or majestic reports and it is free of charge.



Also, I have created a couple video tutorials on how to best use the software to reverse engineer a site's backlinks. I just need to upload them to youtube and then I will post the links here. They are pretty long but very informative I think and will help you realize how powerful the software really is.

You don't need a MOZ account but it is one of the backlink sources available to you and it is free to setup an account so I would definitely do it just to get the most data possible. The software is a one time payment.

Just as a heads up it looks like WebMeUP changed something on their end with their backlink tool. We are looking in to it and will get a fix out as soon as we can.

UPDATE:

A minor update was released to fix the issue with webmeup and also some minor internal changes to query our new licensing server. To get the update simply launch the software and you will automatically be prompted to install the update.

The old licensing server will go offline in a few days so if you don't run the update before then the suto update may not work properly. I will be sending out an email to all customers with the download info for the new executable you can run IF you do not update before the old licensing server is removed from service.

If for whatever reason you are still unable to get the update just PM me our submit a ticket and I'll get you taken care. But try running the auto update first as it will be the quickest way to receive the update.
