I am curious how you would handle a U.S. local brand name as anchor, OP. I am assuming that the Premium Service would be necessary since there would be nowhere on your site to simply 'plug this in' as it were. What would you write about and how would you write about it? By visiting the URL/site to be linked? What would the length of the article be?

No, you can get the professional package if you choose, but premium package works as well.
