on my first day trial now, and Wikibase 100 list (for trial) is not showing up,
It keeps saying : There are no sites in your local Wikibase
What is that supposed to mean ?

Sorry for such a late reply. If you want instant support, you are better off submitting a ticket as we don't always check the forums.

Anyway, if you are not getting WikiBase demo sites downloaded, it means something is preventing WikiRobot from connecting to our WikiBase server. The reason for this is usually an antivirus (especially Kaspersky is known to cause issues) or a firewall. If that could be the case, please whitelist/allow WikiRobot in both of them or try temporarily disabling them and see if that resolves your issue.

WikiRobot 2?

Still coming?

It is, it's just not done yet and will not be released just yet as we first planned. Right now we are finishing the social bookmarks tool that needs to be released before WikiRobot 2. We will let you know...

An update has been released - WikiRobot 1.0.35:

  • added support for Backlinks Indexer
  • added an option to exclude existing sites in project from being copied again when transferring WikiBase sites
You can manually trigger the update process by going into Help / Check For Updates or by restarting WikiRobot.

That's way too low - success rate should be 50%+. So, there's something wrong with your setup. It's hard to say without seeing it, but usually it's the proxies, internet connection, captcha services (or lack of them), antivirus/firewall, bad project settings (including email settings), etc.

Not sure what's wrong. I'll do a test run myself later today and see how many registrations do I get.

Right now how many sites are there in wiki base?

You can always check the latest status here: http://www.wikirobot.net/wikibase_breakdown.aspx

Note that we haven't cleaned it up for a month or so (we do it every 2 months), so the number of actual working sites is lower, but still pretty good.

have u done any test ?

updating wikibase every 2 months is not enough i think ,as long i am paying monthly ,looks like wiki base should be updated more often

You misunderstood me. We update WikiBase on a weekly basis - 4 times per month. That means we add new, working wikis. But we clean it up (i.e. remove non working sites) about once per 2 months. And there are reasons we don't do that more frequently. The main one is that removing site at the moment we notice it's not working is not the smartest thing to do. Hosting could be down, there could be maintenance in progress, the site could be migrating to another server, etc. That's why we don't remove non working sites immediately but rather monitor them over the course of some time and then only remove them if they are constantly not working.

And yes, I've tested the whole thing and got about 55% success rate which is still very good (considering the clean up hasn't been performed for some time). Up to the day I haven't found a better list of wikis for WikiRobot than WikiBase. And I'm not saying that just because we are selling it. Of course it's your choice whether you want to be subscribed or not.

Going to be picking this up. Seems useful and interesting. Look forward to doing business with you.

Just let me know of your purchase ID or email address (you can PM me) and I will reset the license for you. After that you can activate WikiRobot on your new computer with your existing unlock key.

trevormorley, I suppose your ticket has been handled by now by one of our support staff? Let me know if it for some reason wasn't.
