I have been using Wiki Robot from last few days and so far it's look great :-) Very fast speed and high success rate comparing to the one I was using before. But facing 2 problems with the software. Hope you can answer me -

1. Do I need to create a new project each time for new submission? Is there anyway I can resuse the same user account? If yes, how? Right now it's little difficult to create new project each time since I have made groups of Wiki sites as - ********, Nofollow, High PR etc.

2. Is there anyway I can collect the verified links for one particular submission if the same account was used for 2 different submission? I mean, now I am doing as below -

- Created one user id and registered on few selected sites.
- Submitted the content and then verified
- Collected the verified links

Now again,

- used the same user id to submit another submission. (I just replaced the previous content with new content)
- Submission done and got the verified links.

Problem??

- Is there anyway I can find verified links of submission 1 again? I have noticed that, when I use sane user id for 2 submissions, the 2nd time verification process also fetch previous posts live links.

Can you please suggest me the most effective ways to manage multiple submission without the need of creating a new project each and every time? It will save some time.

Thanks,
Xsuni

I think you've pretty much figured it out by yourself already. :)

Once accounts are created, you can use them as many times as you want for posting. The proper way to do this would be:

1. Create a project, add sites and create accounts (also don't forget to confirm emails).

2. Do a posting run and verify links - at this point you will have to export posted links.

3. Reset "posting" and "link verified" status of all the sites before you do another run. You can do that by selecting all the sites (or just a subset if you wish), then right clicking and then choosing "Reset posting status of selected sites" and "Reset link verification status of selected sites". By doing this, all posted and verified status will be set as if no posting was ever done (you'll see that green checks will turn to gray again in "Content Posted" and "Link Verified").

4. Change your content and do another posting run.

There is currently no way to find links of previous submissions again. Once you do another posting run, successfully posted links will be overwritten. Failed ones will stay though, unless you reset the statuses. This is probably the reason why you got links from the previous runs. It's absolutely mandatory to reset posting and link verification status for each new posting run.

Now there is a reason that you can't find links from previous runs. We've played with the idea before, and it wouldn't be hard to implement it at all, but database structure would have to be slightly altered and this small alteration would dramatically slow down the performance when working with lots of sites (e.g. 50000+). I'll pass this to our dev team for reevaluation and maybe they'll come up with something, but I can't promise anything. Not to brag about it, but in my opinion WikiRobot has one of the best sites managers in the industry. We're saving all the sites and everything else to the database to hard drive so the data is not volatile and is always available after restarts, unlike other software (e.g. Scrapebox) that works with sites in memory which is much faster but not very convenient since everything is pretty much lost on a restart. Anyway the bottom line is that we had to make compromises to achieve this and this was probably one of them.

3. Reset "posting" and "link verified" status of all the sites before you do another run. Thanks a lot for the solution :-) Oh my bad :-( I did not click on the Reset option and so I was getting previous links. Now it will be lot less easier. Thanks again.

Totally agree! Wiki Robot is really great and I am loving it :-) The verification function is fantastic. Overall a great piece of software.

It would have been much easier if we could have arranged submitted posts based on account. I mean, the below way -

Account A -> Submission No1 -> Report or other tasks
-> Submission No2 -> Report or other tasks

That way easy to manage posting. Since you are saying it will cause issue, not a problem at all. Hmm..now I got, why it is slight different that any other tool.

One request - Please create one Web2.0 submission tool :) which can achieve similar success rate like Wiki Robot and as robust as Wiki Robot. I am having very hard time on getting one decent tool which can provide good success rate. I am saying about 500-1000++ Web2.0 posting. Definitely I will be the first customer

Will this work with Vista

Yes. All OS from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 8 are supported. Just give the trial version a run and see it for yourself. ;)

No worries about you missing out the reset function. ;) It's not really documented anyway as we're currently putting out user's manual which will also have FAQ and this will definitely be included.

Anyway thanks for all the nice comments. We're also playing with the idea of Web 2.0 tool in the future, but right now our main focus is WikiRobot.

Out of curiosity... are there still other wiki platforms out there that are not supported by wiki robot, and if so, are there plans to add them in the future?
Thanks for a great piece of software by the way.
Cheers.

Roughly how many wikis do you have in the paid database.

The number is varying between 3500 and 4500. You can get complete database breakdown at: http://www.wikirobot.net/wikibase_breakdown.aspx

Yes there are platforms there aren't supported in WikiRobot yet but we're just in the process of adding support to these. They will be added in one of the future updates coming soon.

I'm not sure I totally understood you, but are you saying that you added 500 sites and when doing a check for dead sites all come off as dead even though you know for sure that they aren't? In this case something is wrong with your setup as WikiRobot can't connect to the internet. My quick guess would be a firewall or antivirus is blocking WikiRobot or you are using proxies that aren't supported (only HTTP proxies are supported), but it's impossible to say without more information. We can schedule a Teamviewer session if you want and see what's going on.

In trial version there is no WikiBase access. And there are no projects or sites included either. So you are either using a couple of months old beta version or a cracked version. I suggest you uninstall whatever version you have installed right now and delete everything inside your WikiRobot installation folder and reinstall the official version that you can get from http://www.wikirobot.net/trial.aspx

That's weird. Just uninstall, delete WikiRobot installation folder to be sure everything is clean and install again. Because as said, there are no sites in WikiRobot trial.

An update has been released - WikiRobot 1.0.8:

  • added ability to export links in Excel format (with more information than just pure links)
  • added new choices for deleting sites (e.g. delete all sites where posting failed, etc.)
  • fixed neverending timeout issue (some sites will time out only after like 10 minutes)
  • fixed lots of smaller bugs
You can manually trigger the update process by going into Help / Check For Updates or by restarting WikiRobot. @everyone else: Thanks so much for all the new orders! :)
