These stores are build for amazon products. Products are imported as regular wordpress posts so I suppose you can add regular products just by creating a new post.

I try to optimize the site with main keyword (EMD) with 1k+ exact searches with low competition. I can search for higher monthly searches keywords but the competition wwill be medium->hard. If you're ok with it i don't see any problems doing it.
