I see what you are saying, I don't know what wire service they use, but if it is through chron.com, then it will show up on a lot of the same sites.

BUT

Each press release is unique and creates a new page on each website. These websites have hundreds of thousands of existing pages already, and just like with natural link building, it wouldn't be too odd to see the same URL pop up one more than one page on a website.
