Hrm its hard to tell without actually knowing the keyword, generally though a high search keyword will be more competitive than a low search keyword for obvious reasons really, lots of people going after those high search keywords so lots of competition. Sometimes its wise to find long tail variations of the keyword which have less searches but are less competitive, gather a few of these and the numbers start to stack up! Low laying fruit
