My honest review
Today I received a partial refund from T0mmy, the refund is about 53% of what I paid. While T0mmy mentioned that this is the amount he will refund, I think he should have refunded 100%.
Anyway, I had 4 packages with his service (originally 5 urls/kws), so total of 20 urls/kws starting on 17-Jun-2012. This review is about these 20 original kws that started this campaign. I will tell you what I got from this service in 2.5 months.
In the beginning I saw that he built bookmarking links from spammy sites that most of them have PR N/A or PR0, here are few examples:
So I sent him an email that I?m not interested to have links from spammy sites directly to my money sites. He said that he noted it and we moved on.
During the first two months, I saw ONLY 2 links created (not including the bookmarking sites). In addition my ranking dropped because of the links from the bookmarks. So 3 days before we reached the 2 months date, I sent T0mmy an email asking what?s going on and he replied that he don?t know why I?m not getting the results, he will pass it to his team and have extra work done. That was on 14-Aug-2012.
On 27-Aug-2012 I saw a link that was just built. The link was just embedded in a post not related to it at all on a wordpress.com blog, just a PURE SPAM. Immediately, I sent an email to T0mmy asking if these the kind of backlinks in his service as I thought his service is white hat. T0mmy?s instant answer was that he doubt that this was his service, but he will check. Later on he said that he?ll have ?serious words with my link builders to address this and I thank you for pointing it out!?
Two days later on 29-Aug-2012 I saw that things continued in the wrong direction as I saw more spammy links being built. I sent T0mmy an email pointing out the non-related posts and links, badly spun that are posted both on blogspot and wp from the same user. In addition I pointed of a wiki link that was a stolen article from EzineArticles and just added the link to my site. All in all I mentioned how disappointed I was from these practices.
After he spoke with his team he confirmed that the web2.0 were done by them but declined that the wiki was done by them. I know for sure it was done by T0mmy?s service as I saw the same IP (in my ?Latest visitors? log) coming from the wiki and from the web2.0 posts - that is how I knew about this page from the first place.
At this point T0mmy said that I?ll get 2 months free to my 4 packages and he wouldn?t blame me if I wanted to cancel. I suggested that we will speak and after that I will decide if there is a point to continue or cancel. I wanted to know if he has also some quality backlinks in his arsenal or just the crappy links I saw so far.
As T0mmy did not have a microphone, we had to schedule it to 3-Sep-2012 (4 days later). On 2-Sep-2012 I got an email from T0mmy saying that he has some family issues, meantime his guys are working overtime on my campaigns and he offered to reschedule to 5-Sep-2012. At that point as I saw more links being built in the same bad practices as before - spammy and off topic link building from bad neighbourhoods or soon to be bad neighbourhoods, I told him that I want to cancel and expect full refund as there are no significant positive ranking changes to say the least.
The links I saw were from low quality, full-of-spam article directories, the articles were badly spun with a mismatch of article-title to content to link-anchor text to money-site-url. Here are just few sites that the backlinks were built on:
Plus I saw another wiki that was built on the 30-Aug-2012 again with a stolen article from EZA and the link was just put there out of context.
T0mmy said he?ll issue a refund of $1000 that will be paid on 30-Sep-2012 (almost a month delay from my cancellation date) and I said I expect a full refund. Anyway, I canceled my 4 packages on 3-Sep-2012 because the practices I saw were just terrible. These practices did not work for me and I?m sure they cannot work for anyone for the LONG RUN. They might work for short period but for sure not for the long run.
My verdict:
SECRET SEO By T0mmy gets a big FAIL. It did not deliver results. I saw that he started to build links seriously ONLY AFTER two months and that happened ONLY AFTER I sent him an email. The big FAIL is mostly for the spammy practices of low quality links. This service is AT LEAST 99% black hat and in my opinion is very bad for the long run.

Blacat there was mistakes made with your account and my link builders, I've spoke with you a number of times and I take full accountability for the issues, I tried to make this right with you by offering some months free work, I got rid of 2 of our workers that made the mistakes also.... Its unfortunate this happened and I understand your concerns but this was an isolated case which we wanted to help fix
Its not often that we have issues here compared to the majority of services running at the moment, we have maintained steady rankings since the start of this year through panda and then penguin! this in itself is testiment to the sort of links we are building, Secret SEO is far from a fail the 60+ positive reviews and 150+ strong happy customer base tells a different story tbh, mistakes were made on your account I don't deny that I never did I was first to admit it to you and we are thankful you brought it to our attention back then so we could take steps to make sure it didn't happen to other clients, anyway I knew this review was coming from you as soon as you got your refund, good luck with your business in future.

As you state that you take FULL accountability for mistakes on your side, then why the refund is PARTIAL?
All I have is my experience with your service and therefore my review. If your link building practices are different than what I got from your service, then I'm very happy for you and your clients.

All 20 original url/kws of the 4 packages had negative ranking movement on the 2-2.5 months mark. But it is not really important as the general trend was negative and you state that you fired two people in your team because of these practices.
Yes 2 people were fired for this back when you brought it to my attention, we also implemented a series of quality checks that are done weekly to avoid the same mistakes happening again, mistakes will happen its how we learn from them and progress is what defines us, so for that we are thankful to you.
