Sent a Skype Contact Request to you as well as PM to talk further when you can to ensure no conflict of interest in Niche etc. Thanks so much!

Sure I am here most of the day today.

My review:

If you are looking for a penguin proof SEO strategy, this is it. I saw the most positive improvement post penguin (in my keywords that did rank from this service). I didn't see great improvements however, so I cancelled my subscription and am waiting for the penguin dust to settle before moving forward with my SEO strategy.

I used this service for 3 months and didn't have stellar results, but did see positive movement in two or three of my keywords. I wish I could have had a glowing review like the people before me! This isn't to say that this service is bad, though. I would still recommend it. I targeted 10 difficult keywords in a difficult niche, so I am not fully surprised that my rankings didn't improve as much I had hoped.

The customer service John provides is great as well. I contacted him three separate times and he got back to me each time within about 12 hours or less. He answered every question I had as well.

Thanks for the review. If the keywords are competitive 3 months is just not enough time. I set 3 months as a parameter to keep people around, but most of us in the SEO who know the game understand that slow and steady wins the race. Many times really competitive keywords can take many many months to achieve. I think it is very important for people here on BHW and in the IM world in general to set their expectations correctly, especially with the new changes. Ranking fast, although possible, is not a long term business model.

Didn't want to come off as this was your fault at all John. In fact I think you have A+ customer service and I appreciate that you even offer weekly reports. I was just curious as to what other services people were using to check their rankings. Thank you again John!

I wasn't mad, so no worries:)

same question, thanks

We never delete links unless someone request it. I think this is one of the most shady practices an SEO company could ever do.

So, even after penguin you are still doing seo for only those 10 keywords, with no diversity?

As of right now we do incorporate some naked URLs. If you read my update post I explain a bit about what we expect as far as anchor text diversification. We suggest at least 30% of your keywords be generic/brand/URL. We also suggest that people buy the 25 keyword package because you have a lot more room to add in variations of anchors.

All this being said, we are soon going to be incorporating generic/brand/url anchor texts as part of the service. This will mean we will have to be raising our prices on the packages. I am going to absorb most of the cost, so it will only be around $50 per month for the 10/25 keyword packages. The 50/100 will stay the same. This will make our SEO services that much more valuable and long term.

Your price is a little steep, but hey if it works it should be a gem in the making...

Actually for what we provide this service is quite inexpensive.

what about those sites which are hit by penguin , and lost ranking ........... burn by bad seo people so want to understand in details . already added you on skype.

Well it is not that people who offer SEO are bad. The majority of providers have good intentions. It is more that Google basically did a 180 on the guidelines. It used to be that G only disregarded dodgy links, now they punish us for them. So there has been a huge shift in how all SEO companies have to approach their strategies as a whole.

My results -

I have been with John's 10 keyword package for 3 months. No keywords were in the top 1000 when he started. These are travel keywords too, very competitive. I have done NOTHING to the site, not updated any content, not done any other SEO and John's service is working AWESOME. This is long term, effective SEO. If you want long term stability buy this, if you want to be #1 in 2 weeks, DO NOT BUY IT. I did not see any bounce, blip or dance with Penguin either.

John, you should change your name to "Steady Eddie" Thanks for your service! I will be ordering another package soon because this test is working great.

Keyword - 1 Rank 2
Keyword - 2 Rank 14
Keyword - 3 Rank 18
Keyword - 4 Rank 31
Keyword - 5 Rank 34
Keyword - 6 Rank 40
Keyword - 7 Rank 51
Keyword - 8 Rank 86
Keyword - 9 Rank 113
Keyword - 10 Rank 159

Update

As we all know the recent changes by Google have made it very difficult for many of us in the SEO industry. At the same time, we should also realize that being flexible and being able to adapt to changes is all part of surviving in the SEO game. Like I mentioned previously, we saw the writing on the wall in January and started testing new strategies on websites. At the end of March we started using these methods on all customers websites. Since there is much more detail that goes into finding relevant links and industry specific links, it ultimately cost me more money. I have tried to hold out with passing this cost onto my clients, but now it is starting to be a lot of work for not a whole lot of money. So at this time I am going to have to increase the rates on the 10/25 keyword packages by $50 per month.

What is now included in our SEO packages:

Types of Links:

Relevant links corresponding to the keywords in the anchor text.
Industry specific relevant websites
All one way links
Industry specific article pages
Industry specific blog comments
Category specific directory submissions

Type of links we do not use:

Time bomb links
Links farms
No free for all link networks
No links from bad neighborhoods (we run the links first before we place them)
Public blog networks

Also, instead of having to use generic keywords as some of your keywords, we now incorporate these variations as part of the service. So you can now give us your broad match keywords and we will incorporate brand/generic/naked URLs with your anchor text variation as part of the monthly fee.

Basically, our service is now taking a more strategic approach to SEO. We feel in order to stick around for the long term, this is the best way to continue.

Please note: all current clients will keep the same rates, as well as resellers. This is only for new clients.

You can order as usual at www.bestseofirm.com/bhw

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

added you on skype - I am interested in your services - please accept me on skype so we can chat

Great! Look forward to working with you.

went to the site but did not see the "reseller page". where can I find this? what is the price difference between signing-up 1 account as opposed to reseller account?

Here is my review after 3 months of the 10 keyword service, for two different sites (different niches/categories).
Both sites are 3 years old without any previous artificial linking work. They both had some natural links (from real people, not me) from some industry-related forums previous to starting this service, and probably some random links from scraper sites, etc. But certainly no black hat stuff, no spun content, xrumer, etc. etc. type junk.

To be fair, neither of the sites were ranking for any of the targeted keywords. Both sites ranked for some long tail keywords.

The keywords targeted range from low to medium to high competition. Some of them should have been "easier" to rank than others. But as you all know, even the numbers don't tell the whole store when it comes to keyword competition.

First site started back at the end of January. I switched half of the keywords after a month (my faulty keyword research). I had seen 3 keywords start to rank. 2 were in the top 10. I was getting excited! I guess I was on the "old" system, because I didn't get very many ranking reports. Around the beginning of April (almost 3 months into it), my rankings dropped. They bombed. I emailed John and he said to cancel the subscription and he would continue the service another month, for free. That was nice of him, but during this month, there was no improvement. This was all "pre-penguin". I continued to rank for long tail keywords I ranked for before trying the service. Here is what John had to say about this drop "They were ranking, and suddenly seemed to disappear. Not sure why. Shouldn't be a penalty. I don't see any suspicious links at all. Sometimes sites do this and then reappear. Tell you what. Cancel the subscription and we will continue to link for a bit to see what happens."

Second site started in February, a month after the first site. (Remember I saw good initial results with the first site, so I signed up for a second package). After a couple weeks, some of the keywords started showing some rankings. Nothing to write home about, but I was planning to be in this for at least 3 months and I hoped a lot longer. Out of 10 keywords, only 5 ever showed a rank increase. 1 of those increased for about 2 weeks then dropped. So really 4 of the 10 keywords showed improvement/started to rank. The big issue I had, however, was that after increasing for a while, these 4 keywords either stagnated or began to drop. I had to cancel this subscription as well, because I just wasn't seeing good progress.

I would be willing to be in a program like this for the "long haul", if I saw some good momentum. But, with the first site, a few keywords got ranked then the bottom fell out. There was no other "linking campaign" going on at the same time. Content was slowly updated as usual (articles and forum posts). Another month went by with no improvement.

The second site started off good but only 4 of 10 keywords ranked and I would say the results were weak and the last month the trend was downward (worse ranking).

I committed $1200 for both of these sites, and was prepared to spend more had I seen an upward trend. But all I saw was one site drop out totally, and the other site stagnate and start to slide back. It's hard to keep a $200/month/site subscription in effect when your keywords are sliding. On one hand, you're asked to have faith and be in it for at least 3 months, but on the other hand, you're shelling out the money and your keywords are sliding backwards.

I'm sure John can chime in on the exact timing and how long it takes for accounts to be set up once you order, but I paid for 3 months of both sites, and the results were definitely a downward trend. So whether it was 2.5 months or 3 months of actual work, I can't say, since there are no link reports.

I know that it must be hard to be in this business and not have control over your clients' on-site SEO and whether they are using other services at the same time. While my sites aren't going to set the world on fire, they do have unique content, are 3 years old, have forum posts (from real users) and articles on them. Second site has had a couple articles picked up by Google News (not any of the keywords I had in this service). I have webmaster tools on both of them and have never received any penalty notices. I do not use google analytics on them, rather, I use another analytics package.

Maybe others are having good results, and/or maybe there's something glaringly wrong with my sites, but my results were unsatisfactory. The only big recommendation John made for my sites was to start using Google authorship. He never said there was anything majorly wrong with on-site SEO. With the first site, the one that dropped big time, he said he didn't see any suspicious links.

Some SEOs offer guarantees of top ranking, or guarantees of increases or guarantees of satisfaction. But when you click on a sales thread like this one, and you're told "I'm not going to bore you with the same old BS sales thread. If you want FIRST page rankings, this service is for you." and see screen captures of google SERPs with #1 spots, you tend to expect a lot!

Getting the first site's rankings totally bombed and the second site with 4 out of 10 keywords ranked is no where near my expectations. I truly believe I had realistic expectations.

Here is the final ranking for site #2 after 3 months of this service:

KW1: 22
KW2: 41
KW3: 47
KW4: 107
KW5: -
KW6: -
KW7: -
KW8: -
KW9: -
KW10: -

I tried to keep this review as factual as possible, but I thought a thorough review was in order. Good luck to you!

Thanks for your detailed review. Your first site was hit with a algorithm iteration/update back in March if I remember correctly. To say that you did no backlinking to the site before is untrue. I looked at your link graphs. You had links pointing to the site starting in 2009, and there were a few times that there were some decent spikes which usually means you were buying links. This being said, I tried to help you out and give you a free month. Site never recovered.

As far as your second site, all 10 of your keywords are medium to high competition. 7 out of the 10 are highly competitive. I would give them here, but I don't want to out your niche. Basically, if anyone reading this has SerpIQ.com, 7 out of 10 keywords have 65+ CI scores. We still managed to rank 5 in the top 100 within 2 1/2 months. If you were an offline client I would not only charge you 5 times the amount for this, but I would also make you understand that you need to sign at least a 6 month contract.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the service, but I need people to be reasonable. We are dealing with so many factors with Google and there are going to be some issues that arise, especially with the large amount of clients that I have. We try to do the best we can and make everyone happy, but please understand. If you give me keywords like "Payday Loans" or "Information Technology" and expect us to rank them on the first page in 3 months, your expectations are unreasonable and you need to be educated on SEO.

Even though there are two keywords get rank in top 100, they rank for different URLs I gave John. However, I have seen a slight increase in the amount of backlinks today. Everything seems to be good, and I waiting for more improvement. :)

placed order today, so far so good, John has been helpful in which website to choose to do SEO on.

After 5 months using this service exclusively my site got hit by Penguin on Sunday. All keywords John was working on are now nowhere. Despite John did a great job I am going to cancel the service because I don't see any value in doing SEO anymore its just to unpredictable. Doing Ecommerce and using PPC is the only way moving forward for me.

This service is supposed to be Penguin safe - isnt it?

Sorry to see you go. Google is not making it easy for in the SEO world.

This service is supposed to be Penguin safe - isnt it?

Yes it is. Remember, we changed our methods in March to combat Google's changes. Remember, we started seeing small iterations of Penguin in January. They just rolled it out to a larger part of their index in April. Many times the issue is we can not control the previous SEO services clients have used. The majority of our clients have used other SEO services, which is out of our control. So it does not matter when you built the backlinks. It could have been 3 years ago. They are still in your link profile.
