We've been working with John since Jan 2012. Since then every single keyword we have been targeting has moved anywhere from 10-30 spots. 7 of them are on page 1. None of these keywords were on page 1 prior to John's team working with us.

Two of the other keywords are right on the cusp of moving into the top 10. Whatever he is doing is working! We saw no ill effects from the Panda 3.2 or 3.3 updates. Our traffic has continually increased every month. I highly recommend this service!

A short update:

In the beginning I thought this service was shit as I hardly saw any change at all, but after about six weeks in the program I am seeing some positive changes that I like. After month 1 almost no serp movement, but now I am seeing the benefits of his services and will not cancel this service (wot I originally was planning to do). If the improvements continue I might even order another pack for one of my pure whitehat sites as jstovers seo does survive the recent blogposts smackdown so YES, I RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE!

Awesome man. Glad you stuck around.

As far as the latest smack down, I am seeing some clients getting hit, and usually it is easy to point out why. Here are the most common reasons I am seeing clients getting hit with the latest algorithm change.

- link velocity spikes out of nowhere and then varies up and down with extremes. Not steady growth in links.
- paid network links (most common). Public (not really private) SEO networks are getting hammered. Once a site that you have a link on gets devalued, you lose all link value.
- anchor text diversity is poor.
- lack of authority or social presence
- poor content, on page factors

Some of the ways we are combating these changes. Starting April 1, our SEO strategy will be changing to:

- building gradual links so that link velocity does not have suspicious spikes.
- building more niche specific relevant links. Quality is much more of a factor than quantity anymore.
- building more social signals. We will be adding more social signals to our link building strategies (Twitter, Google +).
- getting rid of any linking we feel is low level.

If you are going to sign up for this service, here are some things not to do:

- Do not join any private blog networks. Paid linking is too risky anymore. You might be able to get away with it for a bit, but why even worry about it? You can get quality links without paying for them on a network that lots of others are paying.
- Don't go buying every other service on BHW, WF, and WF. Like I mentioned, Google is watching link velocity and if they see giant peaks and valleys, it is usually a good sign you are trying to game their system. Overzealous link building can get you in trouble. Blasting links to your site is no longer a safe strategy with SEO.

In the meantime here are some things you can do on your end to help our efforts and gain trust and authority with Google:

1) Make sure your content is engaging and not some garbage spun article. Make sure content is written for the end user and not the search engines.
2) Get yourself a Google + profile. Build it out and start sharing any news and content about your website. Under profile>about> add your website under "contributes too". Then add your profile under the author tag on your website. If you have Word Press there is a plugin called WP Google Plus that makes it really simple.

IF you have a static page use:

linked author profile = https://plus.google.com/239843834783650724
google profile = https://plus.google.com/239843834783650724
author name = Joe Smo

Use rich snippet tool to test if it is working:

Here is a tutorial on how to do it:

If you are adding content (highly suggested) or have news about your website or business, share it on your plus page. This will give Google social signals and add trust and authority to your website.

3) Create a Google Places listing (not mandatory for citations) for your site. Add your address on your contact us page (even if it is fake). Then throw some local citations including your address, and phone number of your website. Make sure you use the same name and info in your citations that you use in your Google + profile.

If you don't want to create a Google Places account, you can always just do local citations. I have some places to buy citations so email me or ping me on Skype and I will point you in the right direction.

Remember guys, with SEO, it is adapt or die. For long term success we have to adapt to any changes that Google makes.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me.
