Hi Jrim,

i want now give my review over your fantastic software and the great support.

I use this kind of software since months and i must say it is awesome.

I found enough working proxies for scrapebox, which work for scraping and posting.
Additional i can use the provided proxies for all kind of seo tools and the work wonderful.
The proxies works great for my own content scraping tool. What more could we want?

And thats every day again :) And especially for this price.

Its get within seconds thousand of proxies. And with the new Proxy Type Filter, i have two clicks to test this complete proxy list.

I use the software with 500 threads on my VPS and its really quick.

Never else before i have see so a great proxy toolbox :)

As i had a problem in the past, i got a response very quick and my problem would fixed within on day. Thats customer service, which i love.

Keep it up :)

Regards,
Manuel

Hi det0nator, I am very sorry for the inconvenience but it appears that your configuration file is corrupt. An update was just issued to handle this type of problem but unfortunately your version of the software will not even update. Future versions of the software have this issue resolved but you will need to fix this by hand. This is a tedious but short process so bear with me:

[please note these directions are for Windows 7 - if you're running a different version of Windows, let me know]

1. Open the following folder (enter this directory into Windows Explorer):
Code:
C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\AppData\Local\Jrim_Software\

2. Sort the folders by 'Date Modified' and open the most recent folder. It will look something like Proxy_Multiply.exe_ and then a bunch of random letters and numbers (this is known as a GUID).

3. Sort the folders again by 'Date Modified' and open the most recent. The folder will look something like 1.0.0.55 or whatever your most recent version is.

4. Delete the 'user.config' file inside. Restart Proxy Multiply.

Sounds cool...Will this software automatically change my proxy settings to the one which have been found?

Thanks for the feedback! We love feedback.. especially positive-natured feedback! :D

I see you solved your issue already as noted below :)

It is in effort to please the masses, as you alluded to. I wouldn't call the other users 'brainless', they just want the program to work easier with less tinkering. If you are referring to the fact that after clicking 'Stop' during a proxy scrape and the proxies automatically test afterwards, this is intended. If more users are against this behavior it will be changed but it seems most people are happy with it.

See reply below..

Hi xtube, you can use Proxy Multiply to find SOCKS4/5 proxies and then connect to an SMTP server through those proxies. :)

Hey jontre, I apologize for the delay but we do state a 2 business day response time on the same contact form you used to contact us (http://proxy.jrimsoftware.com/contact). I understand you had a need for assistance but I'm hoping for your understanding on a 1 day response time. :)

At any rate, I'm glad you figured things out. I'm not sure why you had the issue with installation as I have not heard of something along those lines until now. Unfortunately it is most likely an isolated case with your particular PC so we cannot give much insight as to the root cause - perhaps a rogue antivirus or something else not playing nicely with the install? It could even be due to hardware failure or general corruption (the issue is that the config file was incorrect/corrupt). Regardless, again I am glad you are sorted now.

What im saying is that say you set in automation for the list to be refreshed every 60 minutes. In the past it would search and test until the amount of proxies needed were found and then stop do your automation settings eg. email or upload to ftp then wait 60 minutes and repeat. Now it never stops searching even after it has enough proxies and has uploaded. There is a bug here obviously and Kendra says the same thing.

Hey revenger, you can use the 'Use Proxy in Browser' button in the software main window to change your proxy settings to a selected proxy. Proxy Multiply supports Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. :)

D'oh, finally figured out what you mean! Fixed :)

Code:
1.0.0.56-------
- Fixed a bug with automation not stopping properly.

[7:37 PM] All proxy testing threads finished!
[7:37 PM] Grabbing search URLs to crawl using proxy (proxy here) as a search basis... (he should not have done this)
[7:37 PM] Automation: We have enough proxies; no need to re-scan and add more.
[7:37 PM] Proxy list uploaded to FTP successfully!
[7:37 PM] Found 66 more websites with proxies. Extracting... (he should not have done this)
[7:37 PM] The list of proxies has reached the configured maximum size (6000 proxies). Please clear the list to continue. (he should not have done this)
[7:38 PM] All crawler threads finished! Fetched a total of 3762 proxies from the URLs (he should not have done this)

Good I am happy you have found it but it still does not work. The list uploaded to the ftp is not the scrubbed list but a mix of scrubbed and unscrubbed and you can see it continues to work after upload. (it does now stop but after it corrupts the list by running additional steps)

Before this is what it did.

1 Search proxies
2 Test Proxies (remove bad or not to your specifications)
3 Upload (your list is clean proxies only and the amount you set so if I set 50 proxies needed that list will have 50 or more)
4 Start timer and Wait until timer ends
5 Retest known proxies first
6 if amount is greater then what we need go to step 4 if amount is not greater then what we need use the list we have of good ones to search for more. After we find them go to step 2
7 loop forever

Rich, is that in the latest version? Click the 'About' button to verify your version is 1.0.0.56. The aforementioned update was just issued today.

Yep latest version I tested right after you updated now I just tested again. PM me your skype name and I can let you TV in and watch what happens. But you should be able to test yourself just set automation to every 5 minutes and let it cycle and check the ftp list etc

I am still unable to reproduce this error on the latest version. If the program says "Automation: We have enough proxies; no need to re-scan and add more.", it is not searching for more proxies, as it is intended. Perhaps you have the threshold number for the automation settings configured too high?

Are you able to capture a video and send it to me?

The threshold is set to 120 and you can see from the logs what it is doing. I know it should not do this. Add me on skype I will share my screen and you can view it live doing what I say.

As you see in the log I posted above it is doing what you say it is not.
It all happens at 7:37 so how can it be anything else and I have my automation set to 60 minutes!

How about you give me the old version back and just let it work the way it was. I do not need any new features ever just make it do what it was which was good. Now it always wants to search why? If i want it to search all the time there is settings for that why make it mandatory it makes no sense at all.

I used this product every day recommended it to friends loved it over Proxy Goblin which i own to. Now I have not been able to use this program since you made these great updates. You are making the program worse if you want more money then charge a monthly fee this is not about money it is about automation and program stability. Without that this program is now garbage.

This is my last post in this thread.

I had given up and moved on from Proxy Multiply because I have been trying with support tickets to get this resolved and get the same answer there is no problem. Then I seen the thread here on BHW and seen Kendra has the same problem.

So I decided to give it a go to explain to you. Which seems to have worked a bit because you released a fix that corrects the issue partially. Now you are back to saying cant reproduce and there is no problem. I have offered TV and Skype to help you debug your software.

I cant waste time on this anymore I will move on. For the money I spent on your software it was worth every penny so I dont have complaints on that but it is a shame it has now become so buggy from a great work of art.

Wow! lol. Thanks for your support Get-Rich, sorry to see you go but good luck with the next program ;)

I will not connect to a stranger's PC via Skype, sorry. I understand you are frustrated and that you are having an issue, but you need to be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day and we cannot build the perfect proxy finding solution in a day. Adding new features involves breaking others, and sometimes fixing them is a tedious problem (as you have seen).

Furthermore, I find it insulting that you claim Proxy Multiply is "so buggy" when you are having a single issue with a single feature... come on now. Why are you trying to give the entire software a bad name because you have found a single bug? Good riddance.

I will reiterate that we are not able to reproduce this bug. Here is an e-mail we just received from a customer today regarding the same bug you're describing:

Hi,

Sorry for the delay - I was running into issues beyond the checking / grabbing not stopping (even with automation disabled), and I was trying to find a replicatable way to get the errors I had (error message when trying to remove proxies and seemingly random unchecking of the 'Automatically delete dead proxies' option). However, with the two updates that've taken place since I wrote in, it seems that everything is working as it should be and the software appears to be behaving as expected.

Thanks for getting these fixed, but sorry I couldn't contribute to helping you debug the problem.

Thanks.

Rob

Thanks for the update Jrim! Finally stopped the never-ending auto-starting.

There are still two problems though:
1) The proxies never get e-mailed or saved to file.
2) To test the update I did the following:
- Set 'Limit Proxy list size to 1000'
- Automation 'If there are less than 10 working proxies'
- The software finds me 6 proxies and then stops. If I understand this correctly, it should restart until I have 10 working proxies?

Thanks again...

Hi kendra,

You are absolutely right, the program should be continuing after that point. Can you copy/paste me the text log (status log) to ensure we are on the same page?

No probs :)

Kendra, you're using the software manually, as you said. If you want it to automatically write to file, you need to let it run automatically by leaving the software idle for the amount of time configured as your automation interval. :)
