I am very new to content locking but was hoping to create a membership site whereby for membership to continue, the user has to complete an offer. Is this something Content Lock Pro could help with?

Sure. You could lock the registration page, so the only way they can get access is by completing an offer. You could then have content inside the membership site that is locked, so they would have to complete an offer(s) in order to get access to the specific content.

Thanks for your questions.

Yes, that is correct. The gateways you generate will work on any version.

That is good news. Nobody should have to actually purchase new hosting in that case (and should stop complaining) as I've looked and found several free hosting services with php 5.3 - which of course most people won't use for actually hosting their sites, but they should be more than adequate to host the CLP backend itself as it's not like it's taking up a large amount of disk space, bandwith, mySQL databases, cron jobs, etc. which is what you normally are paying for with paid hosting.

Most hosts support it, some are just more awkward than others when it comes to actually upgrading for you. We recommend a few that we have used for multiple clients and have no issues. We wouldn't recommend a free host - but there should be no reason why it would not work assuming it supports PHP 5.3 and has IonCube.

Yeah - I actually bought CLP just a few hours ago, planning to use your recommended/supported free host x10 hosting... tried them out and it was terrible. All of their servers are full. Their IRC was full of complaints and they apparently have had all sorts of issues according to their status page... Reminded me again why free hosts were so terrible when I first got started. So yeah best not to go with a free host like you said.

What I didn't know was possible was that I actually found a way to run, at least with my paid host (hawkhost, whom I've been using for years and thoroughly recommend - although the hostgator CONTENTLOCKPRO coupon code might be useful for some people :p), different versions of PHP on the same server based on directory simply by adding a line to the .htaccess file (in the case the one supplied with CLP obviously) and it will apply to the child directories as well, while leaving my other domains/directories unaffected. I didn't even have to contact my host, just did a search in their help and figured it out. It is probably all they do anyways. I am assuming this will work fine but haven't tested it thoroughly. You might want to think about having you/your team look into testing that and making it more public as it would help a lot of people get installed much more quickly.

On my server you add to your .htaccess the line AddType application/x-httpd-php53 php

Anyways, Content Lock Pro V2.0 is looking good so far! Installation was very simple once I sorted out the host issue (which turned out to be as simple as a quick copy and paste). The GUI looks nice and easy to use. I think the thread and your reputation speaks for itself but I'll report back anyways once I see how well the geolocation and postback work. This kind of tool can pay for itself in a day so it's kind of a no-brainer especially if you already have some experience with network lockers.

does this mean we don't need CPA networks for this to load some offers in it...

CLP is a standalone locker so you need one (preferably more) networks so you can rotate a variety of offers. We don't supply any offers - this is entirely down to you and gives you full control.

Hey buddy, I need a DL link and upgraded license when you get a chance.

I just now figured out that I don't have a proper content locker. So I got one from meathead a few minutes ago. Will post some updates and reviews after I try it ;)

Hi Meathead.
I sent a ticket for two days now, without an answer. Could you check that for me, please?

HI there,
Im totally n00b to CPA, but I love the idea of using CLP to get the conversions.

Think is, most of the networks / offers have this "Restricted Marketing: NO Incent" thing, so Im afraid that if I use this tool, my account will get banned/suspended.

What can we do to avoid this?

Thanks!

Sign up to a CPA network that allow incent. Blamads, Peerfly, Leadbolt, Adworkmedia come to mind as incentive CPA networks.

Yep, just use incent friendly offers. Almost all networks have them and it's a lot safer than using non-incent offers, especially if you're relatively new to the game.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your answer.

The GEO TARGETING works for every country in the world? Or just usa and uk?
I want to target the offers to specificy latin america countries like Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, etc
Can that be done?!

Also Ive seen the templates are in english, Can I change ALL the text showed to spanish?

Thanks!

CPATank has a content locker that looks very similar to yours. When I promote their offers which locker should I use?

We use a commercial database of IP addresses so it will work with all countries.

Yes, we have a network version that some CPA networks have started using.

If you want to just run their offers, feel free to use their locker. The standalone CLP is best if you want to test multiple networks at once and you also have the ability to control referer (blank/fake) that you can't do with a network locker.

Hope that helps!

Okk just stepped in, i sincerly hope CLP 3.0 is far from being released haha.

Let's try this beast :)

Ok guys, i'm really enthousiast by nature !

But just have a few minutes to play with CLP and OMFG i'm so excited :p

CSS selector function is awesome. This thing is so easy to use !! Already locked out a website :p

Congratz to Bryan and Methhead !
