Review

Macdonjo3 offered me the chance to test this piece of software (which I really appreciate by the way). I'll try to give you all a quick and honest review of the program.

The program has quite a few options I'll just go through them in the order you are most likely to use them. First of all, the program has proxy suport and the ability to scrape and test proxies(works great), it also suports Deathbycaptcha and Decaptcher (have not tried this yet).

  • Keyword generation: exellent. It gives relevant results fast. I also like the fact that you can automatically filter out brand names. It also offers the options to narrow te search to exact-, phrase-, broad- match and you can input ranges for search volume and cpc.
  • Scraping data: Lots of options, most important features are allintitle, allinurl, allinanchor and total competition. It also offers a profit potential option (which seems to be a bit optimistic in its estimates) and beta version of competition score (this is not yet acurate enough to blindly rely on, but if they get it right it will be a major time saver). Another cool feature is that it can check the availability of domains (.com, .net, .org, .info).
  • Filtering data: Gives you the ability to filter the scraped data and keywords. Lots of different custom filters possible, works great.
  • The program also has three add-ons: google keyword suggestor, LSI keywords and seo competition analyzer. The most important of these is the competition analyzer: I have only given this a quick glance but it seems like it will only give the competion data for broad search match, but maybe I just missed something here. Anyway, it has the ability to check the usual on page-, and off page seo factors for the competing urls (domain age, PR, BLP, BLD, intitle, inurl, etc...).

Even though I have only been playing around with it for a few hours, I can say this is a usefull piece of software. I have tested it using a seed keyword that I had already thoroughly researched (both manually and with MS) to see if it was any good and it was. Keyword scout came to the right conclusions on what keywords were good and which should be ignored.

I tested the program using proxies from the inbuilt scraper and without decaptcha (to see if it would work without private proxies and the capcha software) and the data scraping was not really fast but still good enough. After a certain number it starts throwing up capchas and it gets a bit tedious to input these by hand. So for any of you who want to use it in this manner I would say filter early on in the process to speed thing up. If you are using private proxies and captcha solving software will probably work great (I've not yet have time to test this).

I would recommend Keyword Scout, it might not look as sleek as some of the other software packages out there, but it works. And judging from the Updates history log, the developers seem to care about their software and customers.

Again, thanks for the useful tool Macdonjo3!

just a quick question i have market samurai is this better then that software since all there new stupid updates?

Just wanted to drop by and say that I have been playing around with Keyword Scout, and will be leaving a full review in the next few days. So far, so good!

Hey Mac

Was planning to place an order. Got this message at PayPal:

Due to the demand and power of the software, we're closing sales for a few days. There's nothing like it on the market, so we're going to try to keep it some-what exclusive.

OP offered me a review copy, and I was glad to try out KeywordScout. First thing comes to mind is, why is this thread rated 2 stars? After using this, I'd honestly say this is one of the best tools on the market, and every IMer should have it. I've tried doing manually keyword research, and it's TEDIOUS. This software literally makes keyword research a breeze. After a few searches, I found a nice gem, and I'll be creating a site around that in the next day or so.

Before Keyword Scout, I would have to manually search for keywords, check for domain availability, go through Google Keyword Tool to find keywords with good search numbers and decent CPC. Time consuming, to say the least. This tool has just made things a million times easier for me.

I loaded up about 10 private proxies, and that worked perfect. Sure, it may take a minute or so to get the keywords, but hey, I'd rather wait a minute than do all that crap manually. Once the keywords are listed, you can filter them based on your specifications.
I'm going to be playing around with this tool over the next month and I'm sure once I get a hang of it, it will get even easier.

For the price..this is a NO brainer. You'll make your money back quickly, trust me.

Isn't that the message you get when sellers have been limited? why not just remove links from your site to prevent sales?

If not then nevermind lol, I still want to purchase this tool though, as it looks like it good be useful!

You can't really say that this is "the best tools on the market" if you are only comparing to manual research.

I was using the SEO comp analyzer and I noticed that it's not picking up certain things. Specifically, one keyword I searched for it shows multiple sites not having the KW in the URL or in the description but when I look at the search results and check the sites I find that it is in fact in both.

The Yahoo directory column is not working correctly either. The hover description says DMOZ and it appears to be showing every site as having a listing so far.
