There will be spots available... btw, that restaurant I told you about is actually called Orsay, I'm pretty sure I butchered the name when I told you about it... heading there this Sunday for brunch again.

Uh oh, my oldest son and his wife are Gator graduates... that could throw a wrench into the works.

Do have a question. As your sites get bigger and bigger, how much backlinking is required per article/page? Obviously, the amount of backlinking is relevant to the amount of competition for that specific keyword phrase, but what I am getting at is if I have a 200 page site vs. a 2000 page site how much easier % wise in your opinion is it to get to a good spot?

I build bigger sites than your average bear and when I add content that page gets indexed inside of minutes generally.

All that content is huge when it comes to ranking various KWs so the amount of backlinking required is not as much as when I am first setting up a site.

I've also noticed in my analytic software that people are finding my content through keywords that I'm not even optimizing for, but relate to my niche... Which means to me; Google has some mysterious way to give you love.

I just read through Greg's MNS+ Best Practices.

Where was this when I first started - jeeeez

Thank you Greg

Thanks, makes sense and that was my assumption, but just wanted confirmation my thoughts were somewhat inline with reality for once. Seems that making less bigger sites vs. more small sites is not only easier to manage but more profitable if done correctly.

Here is an analogy that may help people see the bigger picture.

An apple that has fallen from the tree is not necessarily a bad apple. So if you want to make applesauce it is easier to pickup the 1000 apples that no one wants than it is to fight others for the ones that are still hanging on the tree and in the end you end up with more applesauce than they do.

Our grandparents were not far off when they would say save your pennies for a rainy day. Those pennies add up to dollars.

EXACTLY!

You will also find that those keywords a lot of the time are not on your keyword list either.

I have one more thing for you all to think about. I know that all the articles are not up to grade A, but the question I have is this.

What is the purpose of your site?

Is it to provide information? Or Is it to have them click ads?

I see people complaining all the time about poor content out ranking their sites. That is because that site has the SEO on and off site for that term. Now if you answered that your site is to make money, then the content is secondary to SEO right?

Granted you need content and not keyword stuffing but what I am getting at is that the worst sites seem to make the most money. Not saying that the article can be totally butchered but that it is less relevant than you think.

If you give people all the answers there is no reason for them to click on an ad. They have found what they are looking for.

Besides SEO, here is the key to get them to click through in the first place from the search results.

1. Good Title "Blue Widgets" will get fewer clicks than "Blue Widgets Can Save You money"

2. A good description - Do NOT give away the article. I like to get the keyword in there 2x if possible for SEO purposes. Your description should be something like this.

Blue widgets are affordable and economical. Read this article to see how blue widgets can save you money.

Blue widgets being the keyword and a call to action telling them to read the article. Don't just cut and paste a line from the article.

It is basic marketing 101. People have to be told what to do.

Hope this helps as you grow your site.

One other ? about running a big site. At what point is a shared hosting account not enough? Meaning if I plan on building a site with 1000 articles, should I just go ahead and step up to the dedi. It would make sense, I wouldn't put a million dollar house in the hood.

Is possible just focus on writing articles and submit to my website first with extra keywords that you gave me, and build backlinks later on?

thanks

I am interested in this also, once you have the keywords should you write an article per additional keyword or more? and then aim for a minimum level of links/link pushes per article?

Or should you focus on additional link building for the articles/keywords you have published.

Should you prioritise the highest cpc or lowest comp when deciding all of this?

What is the best long term strategy with the additional keywords. A blueprint for ongoing success would be great. ;)
