I assume I need a PC with this course? I programmed a little in VB a while back but I quit and have since moved on to using a Mac.

Maybe I could buy a cheap system just to build/run these apps... any ideas?

I could get Parallels but my HD space is running really low already... maybe I should just get an external HD...

I would recommend VM W@R3. It will enable you to run a windows OS within a virtual session and you will be able to run your applications through a virtual network adapter so they can get to work for you.

You can find pre built sessions around the net utilizing various OS's.

Cheers

To The People Dissing Headspin For Teaching VB Etc.etc.

Get it into your heads: Learning a language isn't hard. Applying it & making a useful program is.

VB is a perfect language for people starting programming. personally i started there, moved to java and now im on C, moving onto C++ when i get my next job. i code php/mysql/asp/xml etc. and its not even worth thinking about. However, getting your mindset into something and programing it to automate it is hard. thats the idea of the course.

Strip away everything and you're left with a really great introduction to this type of programming.

&& BTW Headspin. If you want to do an intermediate course, i'll happily teach people about XML api's so they can automate some more advanced web stuff ;). If you want to, give me a buzz and i'll make you some material up. You can have it for free to distribute as i value you taking your time to teach people! =]

For those looking to buy his course:

DO IT. You Won't Regret It =]

Thanks for the offer, Jammie. I might take you up on that.

I've just signed up for this course and i am hoping this runs on longer, so i'd be up for Headspin and Jammie joining forces and to develop new courses.

I'm really busy at the moment Rudy, but as soon as things let up a little I may start a subscription-based intermediate course which would be a follow-up to this one and where I and Jammie (if he's interested) would partner up to add tutorials on a regular basis. Don't know how much interest I'd get for this, but it would certainly be fun to make :).

Yeah i'd be up for it, i have a big project atm (25 people is big for me!), but once i get everyone sorted i should be free.

I'll happily teach pretty much anything to anyone, but i have 2 or 3 tricks up my sleeve at the moment ;).

If i don't sell them on here, i'll put similar stuff to your students and make them code there own =] then everyone will have some kick ass unique scripts =]

PM sent.

I do a lot of development with php and this sounds like a great course to learn bh techniques. I 'll be signing up this afternoon.

just recieved package and it all looks very professional - not some hastily cobbled pdf like others I have seen! Will post full review next week once I have had a chance to work through some lessons

Headspin, do you have a downloadable video other than swf file?
I prefer to have it download onto my hard disk as it's quite inconvenience to view to video online.

please pm me payment details, i am interested in a purchase.

Hello Im interested in earning programming but right know I dont have time for that since my university exam is coming up for the next few weeks, I hope this could be extended until 20th nov so that I can fully focus on this class.. I'd love to make an application but dont know how to start.. learning from the web took me ages to understand without guides from somebody who has experience.. I'm looking forward to this...

By the way, is it ok for this class If I dont even have any programming skill?? what I know is how to use the matlab since it requires me to do the assignmentssss..Is it also consider as programming?

Signed up yesterday and have gone through the material. Very well done.

The videos make it very easy to understand. It would be nice if there were downloadable versions of the videos though.

@masterwaldo & miker99: The videos can be downloaded in SWF format and then played using EOLsoft's free flash movie player at
hxxp://www.eolsoft.com/freeware/flash_movie_player/

I will be adding download links and instructions to the video tutorial pages next week.

The course will definitely be around in December so don't worry about joining now - get your exams out of the way first.

Yes, it's intended for total n00bs and there is no programming experience required at all. You will start from scratch.
