I used about 4 credits, and all the HTTPS proxies were very slow, pretty much unusable. Any reason why?

Each proxy is unique, those are public proxies.
Some of them are pretty fast (more than 10 megabytes per second) and others are slow.

You can see the last tested upload and download speed in your proxy management tab.
