You ordered from him over a MONTH AND A HALF AGO? And paid first? And you just got your work?

Man he must have done something real special for you to get you to come post a good review to bump my bad ones.

How in the world can you be happy after a month and a half? Imagine going to Wal-Mart to buy a TV, paying for it, and them not answering calls or emails or letting you in the store for a MONTH AND A HALF to get the TV you already paid for.

And you are really praising and thanking him. Wow.

Yes but the difference was I told him to take his time with it in the beginning. There wasn't any big deadline for me so it wasn't a huge deal. I'm just posting my experience doing business with him and I can honestly say I would work with him again. :D

Your artwork looks great... You recent reviews make we want to think twice.. Would you be willing to sign a binding notarized contract including deadlines for a large project?

ARE YOU SERIOUS? You read all of this and want to use him still? He won't even respond to email, you think you can get this dummy in court if the deal goes bad? Really?

Ok, I can't believe I was dumb enough to work with this guy despite the bad reviews. Do we really need a good graphics guy on here THAT BAD that we are willing to put up with thieves and liars?

I went to another more white hat forum, took me 15 minutes to find someone for my needs with a good reputation and great work.

I personally can't believe Adam hasn't been banned or at least had this thread removed. If BHW was my retail business and I had someone like him stealing from my customers he would be gone in a heartbeat.

Oh and anyone who needs cards, flyers etc, go to these guys. Haven't used their design but for cards and flyers they are the best and cheapest I have found. They will even airmail your stuff to you if you need it fast. Been using em for years, no affiliate, I don't make anything. In fact I'm pretty sure it's who Adam uses anyway

Why don't you try Vistaprint? I get all my gear from them and have never had a complaint

Alright, for those who are on the edge, it's a big bad long thread mixed with good and bad.
The good:
The consensus is that for people who have received their products, the design has been well done, professional, and worthwhile.

The bad:
Delivery times can be sketchy, often things get put on the back burner, and end up with refunded payments and apologies. Generally bad business practice/mismanagement/growing pains.

I've been personally talking with Adam, and here's where we hope things start turning for the better.
We are in final negotiations for a partnership, I will basically be the PR/Project Manager/kick-adam-in-the-butt guy. When you request a quote/place an order, I will be the one dealing with most of the contact, getting you a schedule of when the project will be done, and getting everything on a tight timeframe. If you have questions or concerns, I'm always on IRC, and respond to emails in under a day, so you will stay in better contact for your project.

We are playing this by ear, and I believe it will work out for the benefit of all involved here, from manager to designer, to you. It is my goal to provide you better turnaround times, better contact, and better service.

I will also be actively monitoring this thread, our partnership should become active within the next week, I will look into any disputes currently open once I step in, but for any future disputes I will ask you to contact me personally and I will do my best to resolve it before you take a dump in this thread. Hopefully this thread will clean up and we will all end up happier in the end.

I'm looking forward to doing business with you all, my apologies to anyone who has missed a project in the past, hopefully some good reviews will come to convince you to give us a try.

Peace

P.S. Adam, get ready for me to ride your butt on an as-needed basis....I'm watching you... ;-)

hackNstuff,

Excellent way to move forward.Reminds me of old school,
The best coach is not be best player and best players are not the best coach.
I own and run a company of 7 developers, i know how hard it can be the same person to do the project management and client relations as well do the code.
Am sure this DUO team would have big impact and make it worthy to both of you. Looking forward for some for some good reviews now on this thread.

From a business standpoint it would make sense if you were in the same room or building.

Good luck with this one...

And I would suspect that those who were dissatisfied would still be ready to take a nice big steaming dump in this thread unless apologized to, refunded, and somehow compensated for their trouble.

I again agree with everything J.D. is saying. Unless you are at the very least living on the same street as this guy your biting off way way more then anyone could be expected to chew.

I do wish you luck and I do hope it works out but knowing Adam as I do (remember I`m the guy he called a child molester because I didn't like that I receive flyers filled with spelling errors) I`d say you just made the mistake of your life!

Allright, first project HackNstuff. Adam refunded me my $120, but apparently he doesn't have the funds in his bank and Paypal bounced it. It's going to try and get my money again in 2 days.

What do you think?

John Dough: I sent you a PM regarding this.

To anyone else who may have any current dispute, please keep further feedback off this thread and in PM and I will look into it once we finalize our arrangements and sign papers. Once we have everything in place I will be more than happy to review your case.

Thank you!

Oh hell no!

Keep all disputes off this thread rofl. He's never going to sign papers dude. Get real.

Ok, so Adam refunded me, but has no funds, so paypal kicks it back. I have received PM's now that this is Adam's way of operating so everyone WATCH OUT. I personally will post in this thread every single day until the end of time until I get my refund .

In the meantime, anyone who does business here is just asking to get ripped off.

Want me to change my mind and delete these posts? SEND ME MY MONEY BACK!

The OP was really quick to finish the job, it only took him a few hours. He then gave me a nicely formatted and organized excel sheet. It has only been a few hours so I don't know yet if my site has been approves but I well keep you guys updated.

BTW, I got a big box of business cards in the mail last week, the shifted around a bit during shipping, but were as expected.

I'm still waiting on my project. We'll see. I either get it or escalate it to claims. As I write this, he has 30 minutes to deliver.

Hexalor, you'll be hearing from me as well

Umm, mind sending some info here? I'd be glad to check into it for you, but "30 minutes to deliver" in an internet forum...? Not everyone is sitting in front of their computer watching for you to post...

PM me some details and I'll find out what I can.

30 minutes is how much time he had before I escalated it to claims.Sorry if I wasn't clear. it's been WAY more than 72 hours.

He set the deadline, he told me when he could have it done.
He told me Friday 8pm
On Monday after not responding over the weekend he told me it would be done in 2 hours. What day is it?

He failed to manage my expectations and that affected my project

I'm patient and I'm not unreasonable, but I don't put up with someone being out of communication .

Since I posted he's contacted me and sent me a hastily designed PNG file of what the LP will look like. Far from complete and not the completed landing page and PSD files I requested.

He sent over the PSD files for what he has completed. That buys him an additional 2 hours. And that is his eta. I gave him 3 (5pm PST) . A extra for for file zipping, uploading, a smoke break, etc...

I should point out that he has offered me a discount for all the hassle.

I did receive a "provisional refund" from my bank "while the matter is being investigated" about 1.5 weeks ago but I have yet to hear back from my bank whether the refund they gave me is final once and for all or if it is still being investigated or even how long a refund remains provisional. Does anyone know what is typical?

I have never done anything like this before. I still have the materials sitting hear next to me in case my bank demands I ship them back I do look forward to recycling them some day. I am open to suggestions here.

Also I know this is probably never going to happen but I would like the Shit list thread he started on me as well as the neg rep my name address etc. all of it removed from BHW... I mean I love you guys but DAG I didn't wanna have my ugly mug on your site.

Thank you for the consideration HEXALOR.

Update:
So Adam came through.
I'm not going to discuss why he was out of communication nor why he didn't do the job when he said he would. He gave his reasons. I do believe the PayPal dispute, got his attention.

What matters is that the job is complete for now. He did a good job and while working on this last night he was in communication the entire time.
He produced a great looking page in a CMS that is pretty easy to update that my client likes. He made changes quickly and gave me accurate ETA's along the way. And he did it all in the last 24 hours.

Due to the hassle he gave me a 25% discount on the work. He also offered me a free banner and logo for my next product launch. I could have asked for more of a discount or I could have not paid him anything else, but that is not my style and I don't want to be a jerk like that. If I believed in karma, that would be the bad kind.

Shit happens, believe me I know. And sometimes you don't get things done when you said you would. What matters; is that at the end of the day, that you clean up the mess you made and that you learn from it.

He cleaned it up with me.
Did he learn anything? I hope so.
I think if he stops, takes responsibility for stuff (it's his name on the work), gives people realistic time frames and delivers, he'd be a great asset.
This, I think is a time management problem.

Would I use him again? Yes, with caveats:
  • No money up front. Sorry no future deposits.
  • Milestones need to be set and daily updates are required. I would suggest that he give you an update at the end of the first day of work start.
Misses that milestone? Well, move onto another resource. So have a few waiting in the wings.
No money lost and remember to allow for extra time in your schedule.
And don't be a jerk and stiff him when he does the job.

Update
What I mean by update at the end of the day; He has to send you something. Not just some email saying everything is ok. At minimum and image shot of what he is working on. Something that shows progress. And something that you can give him direction on
