The 999 error!!!!!!!!

Here is your answer to that one:

if you post the same URLl more than x times it will display that error.
I don't know how much x times is yet, but that URL will get a ban for 24 hours.
Haven't used proxies yet, so don't know if that would allow it.
I think it would, because when there are 100 answers per day with the URL http://www.google.com in there from different people I can't imagine that it would be a problem!

Hope that this cleared the 999 question.

ok, after some further exploring, i find out that NOW: those accounts are suspended. So even though the 999's were not coming up BECAUSE it was a suspended account, it is probably a prelude to one, meaning: if you start getting 999's prepare to have the account suspended soon after.

so to everyone i would say limit each URL and possibly every answer as well to no more than 20 or so every 24 hours or so.

maybe make a different niche for each account and a different answer and url text file for each one. and post each account (and niche) only once every other day(to only about 20 answers) and go through a rotation of accounts and niches.. so for example post niches 1-10 monday, 11-20 on tuesday, and wed go back to 1-10, etc..

this will probably be safe (hopefully)

That's why I was saying to create MULTIPLE answers for each Niche, each with a different URL. It's not that hard, just re-word each answer a little and make sure you use a diff. URL.

that will help, but that alone is not enough.. because after posting many times, your bound to go over the yahoo limit at some point, even though it will happen later rather than sooner with that technique, it will eventually still happen. you have to cap it off at some specific # to make sure you dont get banned. because if you do, all that work goes down the drain because them posts will be removed.

i agree 100% to make multiple answers and urls, but you still must cap it at some number. plus, the program posts the urls at random, and one url may post more then the others and if it goes over the limit, all them answers go bye-bye

Well, yeah. The daily limit for a level 1 account is 20 answers. I figured that part was understood. I apologize for my assumptions. It's best to stay UNDER that limit too, around 18 answers per account per day -- until you get your accounts up to level 2, which allows up to 40 answers per day.

I'm not sure if this software uses a daisy-chaining feature or not. It would be nice to auto-logout after a certain amount of questions answered, and then switch over to another account. But I'm sure that could get tricky to code.

Just remember to keep each of your accounts under 20 answers per day, and type up multiple answers with multiple URLS and put them in rotation.

Yep...

Known the limitations for awhile. Bad part is I got over 50 accounts and they
are at least a year old. I can answer one at a time but I won't even bother. I had this part outsourced for quite awhile, but I'll probably move along. I am sure Michel will give me a hand when he gets back, so just going to enjoy the weekend. Got to take my sons to the carnival this weekend, and if I don't spend time with the little lady, she gonna divorce me...................again.

Also, what you noticed was correct; the 999 error DOES mean your account has been banned. Like you said, they might not have removed your account and the questions/answers attached to it, but they definitely will very soon.

As for this program posting URLs at random, I'm not sure, but it probably does. If so, creating multiple/different URLs (TinyURLs) and pasting them directly into your answers may yield better results than relying on the program to paste a random URL (using the %URL% tag).

For now, I suppose we'll have to log in/out of the program manually once we approach the daily limit for our accounts.

Perhaps we should continue posting updates to this problem in this thread until we get it resolved?

I'm encountering problems with the Yahoo Account Creator. I keep getting the following errors when trying to create new accounts:

The infamous Error 999 has returned, only this time to foil my account-creating efforts. Anyone have a clue? I haven't posted to yahoo answers from this IP in more than 48 hours.

Oh and for the record, i created false info and screen name just for the sake of taking pictures...

That may be the problem, I just tried to create an account manually at the answers site and it popped up the 999 page. I hope the ban on my IP doesn't last long. Apparently it's just for creating new IDs, because I'm able to log into Answers using other IDs and can post answers manually.

However, I think I may have also just discovered another small problem: has anyone successfully posted an answer using an ID created with the supplied Yahoo ID creator? On two separate occasions, including tonight, I tried to post using the software, but when I clicked the link to check to see if my answer was there -- it wasn't. I noticed that if I logged into Yahoo answers using the account ID I just tried to use with the software, I get this page:

It appears that you have to manually log in to yahoo answers with any new ID and go through the setup process on the above page. Is there any way to include this in the Yahoo Account creation process, Michel?

Edit: just found the Error 999 page AGAIN after trying to setup all 7 of my yahoo IDs with Answers.. I got to #3 before it stopped me... I'll wait about 12 hours and see what happens then. For now, sleepy time.

Yea essential_clix your absolutely right you we have to go trough that part whould be nice if it could be skipped.

Btw why are you not using TOR or any other proxy or so to create the account so you don't have to wait to get your real ip unbanned ?

I've used the TOR bundle: privoxy & vidalia, but I'm not too sure how to setup this software to use those settings.

pasting the urls right in the answer is a good idea, that's what i've been doing as well.

i wonder if yahoo limits the whole domain in the url, or just the exact url as posted. maybe could set up 100 differently named php redirect pages on a domain and have the answers use the URL of all 100 pages one at a time. that would allow you to post your url 2000 times instead of limited by 20

Yes, the Firefox plugin is part of the Tor bundle I've been using. I think the plugin only allows you to enable/disable Tor for use within Firefox itself though.. Is there a way to turn on proxy support for all Internet connections, or perhaps just within the yahoo account creator (which is where I really need it).

Yea,

You need to setup Tor with Internet Explorer. I quickly found this out. I was using Firefox with the button and it wasn't using a proxy within the program. This is a clear cut case of why I hate browser Integration. If it was programmed in Winsock we would not be having near as much problems as we are now.

Seriously though, you have to setup Tor within Internet Explorer no matter if Firefox is your default. I had to anyway. It's not recommended to remove IE from a machine so if you do, I didn't tell ya to.
