For those wanting to know what 50 diggs might do without reaching front page, for me around 250 extra daily uniques Sunday (digg day), 125 or so more than usual yesterday (Monday). Probably gonna be worth around 700 extra uniques for the week. Enough to pay for the diggs and with the possibility of some more backlinks for the future. In the end got around 95 diggs for my article - 50 from here, 20 or so from friends and the rest natural from other diggers I didn't know. Well worth it, imho.

I think it is a good idea Clfox. In my opinion the FP ranking fee should be $100 regardless of the package(permanently). The package is dependent upon comments & diggs.
If the FP ranking of your submission lasts 2-7 days across all packages, then why should the FP ranking fee be any different...
Just my 2cents

I will most likely test with the $15/50 package, soon...
Then I would bigger package on a WH site if it is appropriate and all goes well.
