MY HONEST & TRUTHFUL REVIEW
@slarkpol reached out to me asking me if I would accept a free copy in exchange for an honest review, I respectfully agreed. I really liked his approach and for that alone I do give him credits, kindness should never be left unrecognized or unrewarded.
I've reviewed this kind of gig here before and for those who've read my other reviews you know the very 1st thing I always check is .... the word count! Yup, it does matter - Don't they say that the very first impression is the one that lasts? Our agreement was for a 500-word article. After about 72 hours I've received 474 words (477 if you count the title!). For me, that right there is a cherry red flag right out the gates
Moving on ...
I then went on to read the article in full as someone who knows absolutely nothing on the topic. RESULT: I didn't understand a thing!! I gave it another shot, this time, as 'self', well versed on the topic. RESULT: I got completely confused!!
The writing style was 'heavy' and everything was all over the place. I was so badly hoping for a good outcome upon receiving my copy because
@slarkpol and I had great correspondence going on but my review has to be honest.
The style was definitely not native. It didn't even seem to be human at some point, nor did it seem to have gone through any kind of proofreading. There were mistakes in syntax, sense and grammatical (I spotted 2 or 3, that's not bad, that can happen).
I must've read the article a dozen times over the course of 48 hours and each time I was just puzzled at how this came from an entity doing this professionally. Could it had been me, seeker of excellence? Possible! I then asked my wife to read it and to let me know what she thought of this article ... THAT I JUST WROTE, ME, MYSELF. She read it while I sat next to her. She'd turn to me a couple of times not knowing what to say. She then pointed to 2 or 3 groups of sentences and asked me "what does that even mean?" or "that's not english, here, you should've said so and so"... you get the idea.
Now, I've read a couple of very positive reviews above my post from others who've also received free copies and they seemed to have been super impressed. I'm assuming
@slarkpol has a pool of writers and the one who wrote my article may have been from the lesser good ones; I don't know.
I pick up that
@slarkpol wants to position himself here as a bona fide vendor. There are few good and very good ones established already. All I can say is that I do wish him success but it's going to take a lot more than the type of work he sent me to make that hope a reality.
And btw, this review
IS 500 words
