Hey nimbus...I have been seeing some traffic on my site and that has been great, but it doesn't seem like I am getting completely human visitors. I've noticed that my unique visits remain pretty low while my pageviews are almost dead on with your stats. I looked at the referrers and I am seeing a lot of repeat IP addresses as well. I am just wondering why this is happening if the traffic is coming from expired domains. Seems quite unlikely that someone would continuously visit the expired domain from the same IP address. If you could clear this up I would appreciate it.

Traffic explained

The definitestats referring url is only used to track hits filtered through the server. And after all, the hits are coming from that url, right. Searches are redirected to the server, then filtered down to campaigns with the system, just like this image on my site: http://www.GetWebsiteTraffic.org This will never change, this is how we track.

As for the ips - it is what it is, worldwide traffic, untargeted traffic. Plus, ips are assigned to networks, or internet providers. So if someone on the same network or area provider does a search it could show the same ip.

We also go by the amount served, not daily amount. The daily amount is purged as the day goes on. Those reports are part of what is removed when the database gets close to being full. The only stats we leave are the amount served.

Fair enough. I definitely understand the traffic is worldwide and untargeted. I have no problem with that. I am not expected clicks or sales...I just want to boost my ranking and the only way to do that is get traffic. Thanks for the explanation.
