Just to clarify, our service is based on Referring Domain and not on traffic volume. In fact, traffic to a website is not indicative of it being more trustworthy/better than another website. Based on your question "Does the main domain still get traffic or very little?"

The main site still gets the bulk of the traffic based on those ahrefs stats as well as the samples i provided. Mind you when it comes to the visitor splintering off to go read a blog post that is many years old, its highly unlikely. Hence why i brought up the reasoning about PBN links, guest posts and even curated niche edit links. You will be hard-pressed to find traffic going to those old posts and content because its not new and fresh in googles eyes. This logic applies to niche edit link sellers as a whole. Not only that, these old blog posts are buried under newer posts on the webmaster's respective website. Mind you when you take an old post and add content to update, then google can label it as fresh content and bring that content forward in the search results. In fact, there is an article on Brian Dean in which he covers modifying old content and turning it into fresh content.

What our service does is it puts your anchor text within the content and changes the structure of its written format in a matter of a few sentences to match the flow of the article. Whether or not niche edits as a whole are constituted as "fresh content" in googles eyes, (when reworking content on an old article) is a subject up for debate.

But back to the traffic portion. Ahrefs gives you an avg or guideline of how much traffic is going to the site. Mind you ahrefs doesn't know how much traffic can be going to the website as the traffic could be higher or lower than what is reported, but the stats ahrefs gives is a guideline, not an exact science.
